We went for the first time this week end for a family dinner. The moment we entered the restaurant, we knew it would be a great night. Food was as awesome as the staff and the ambiance. A place you agreed to come back very soon. Voila!

French onion soup is to die for--an absolutely lovely date night. Our server was very attentive and all front of house staff was dressed to the nines. Their $7 cosmo promotion got us in the door and the outdoor seating under the bungalow felt like Europe. Will be returning!

Service and atmosphere were fine. Food was pretty average. Honestly was expecting better given the reviews, even for a weekday. Escargot didn’t have much flavor, neither did the shrimp (also $17 for four farm-raised shrimp). Duck breast was underwhelming, shawarma was somewhat dry. The rack of lamb was good, but definitely had better. I probably wouldn’t choose to come back here.

Lovely to sit outside on an autumn afternoon.
Food, however, was disappointing for the most part. Shakshuka lacked flavor. French onion soup was very sweet and lacked the taste of beef broth. MAC and cheese was an exception— creamy, flavorful. Obviously an excellent roux was used in preparing the dish.
Very pleasant service but very, very, very slow.

Today, friends and I had the delight of meeting a true gentleman named Alam. Mr. Alam was our Uber driver who shared with us the virtues of this place. We're Brooklyn based, but can't wait to try this place. Omar, we will be there, and, for that, we can all thank Mr. Alam.

The atmosphere was amazing! The staff are all very nice and sweet. It made our experience very pleasurable. The French Onion Soup was good. The mediterranean food didn’t really have the typical Mediterranean spices — I’d absolutely come back and try more of the French food.

Had a great Saturday evening in Barbes - refreshing cocktails, well prepared dish (love the watermelon salad and seafood tagline) and good vibe.

SO mixed feelings here: great atmosphere, been to many private events at Barbes. However, I am super sorry but food needs some uplifting and i regretfully have to note that it is tasteless. Spice it up - i t would make a world of difference. Not sure if the people that actually like the food in the comments have been liquored up and are unable to taste it. I just don't get the positive marks for food?? I have eaten in many US based Moroccan restaurants; this is by far not my favorite. But love your atmosphere, the live music is amazing, make you want to dance, etc. your staff is amazing..

One of my favorite restaurants in Hoboken.
The cocktails are delicious and they have great french fries so it's a great place for drinks and snacks (especially with the live music).
The orange sauce and the sweet potato mash in the Magret de Canard really brings out the natural sweetness of the duck meat.
The star of every trip for me though is the desserts. The happy affogato is a truly special experience that is a must try for coffee lovers and haters alike. The amaro perfectly bridges the gap between the bitterness of the espresso and the sweetness of the vanilla ice cream to create an entirely new flavor that is simply divine. They also happen to have the best chocolate mousse I've ever had. I like to take a sip of the (melted and mixed) happy affogato, then take a spoonful of the mousse, and then rinse my mouth with water before doing it all over again. A prefect end to a meal.
