“empty environment, definitely not a spot for the cold”

HOBOKEN: City Bistro Restaurant Lounge Bar is the perfect uptown spot to dine, sip, people-watch, and best of all, leashed and friendly pups are welcome at their outdoor seating! The patio has plenty of charm, with a canopy and string lights overhead, flower boxes adding pops of color, and tables to settle in with elevated American fare and carefully crafted cocktails. We loved that we could still soak up the indoor vibe while sitting near the open doors, plus we even had a view of the game on TV. The staff was incredibly attentive, making sure we felt right at home from start to finish.

automatically included 20% gratuity = worst service ever. never refilled water or checked on us. my friends food took over an hour to come out by the time the rest of us finished eating because it kept getting forgotten. food was not good, overly salty. they charged $30 to cut a little cake.

Our server blew her nose in front of us and tried to serve us our food without washing her hands. Absolutely disgusting. I will never come back here. We asked to speak to a manager and the front hosts advised us that no managers were available.

Probably the worst restaurant I've been to in Hoboken. No joke... my beer and my burger were both served lukewarm. The patio is definitely cool, however.

I held my engagement party at City Bistro and was amazed with the food, drinks and service! The pricing was also very reasonable compared to some other quotes and I highly recommend for any large group events.

I really wanted to like this place — the menu looked promising, with a good variety of burgers and pizza. But unfortunately, my experience was disappointing.

The food took a while, and when it finally arrived, I found a hair in my meal. Accidents happen, but it definitely ruined my appetite. The staff was polite when I brought it up, but there wasn’t much effort to make it right beyond a quick apology.

Atmosphere is nice and the menu has potential, but hygiene and attention to detail need serious improvement. Probably won’t be returning anytime soon.

Our second visit wasn’t great due to the service, but our first experience with Vianna was outstanding—she made such a lasting impression that we’re willing to give it another try just because of her.

Good beer selection but I didn’t care too much for the food. Their burger patty was too thick and not seasoned properly. Wings were meh (a little smelly). Great location though.

Don’t buy the seltzer water. Upcharging you like crazy! $8 for a bottle of Pellegrino. I only gave a tip because our waitress tried to answer our questions. I would also rely on finding better employees with better customer service. I would recommend to go to any other place in the area.

Small advice from someone in the industry… you can’t loose sense of hospitality it doesn't matter how long have you been in the area or how busy you are frequently. That doesn’t give you the right to give a poor energy to the guest, a nice smile or making them feel welcome to your place. That makes the difference between being a place to get drunk and party and a place to create a neighborhood, enjoy good time, good food, drinks, service and atmosphere. Long time listening about City Bistro and very disappointed in my first and last visit. I love Hoboken, and Hoboken deserves more…
