FOOD POISONING!!!!My partner had a dinner at your restaurant thursday night 03/14 with his co-workers and woke up friday morning throwing up and sweating and feeling dizzy , he did not have anything else as he got home almost 10:30pm on thursday night , he hasn't been feeling well since then until today 03/16 he got food poisoned from your food and i think this should be reported, this is not supposed to happen since your restaurant is known as a fancy and good restaurant. How do you let this happen? Please send this message to the owner and please advised this message. I WISH I CAN GIVE 1 STAR!!!!

I'm honestly shocked at what a bad experience I had at Dino & Harry's. I don't know what I was expecting but it certainly wasn't mediocre service and below average food for steakhouse prices. It's the second date night my husband and I have had since our son was born 7 months ago so we were incredibly grateful to be out. We arrived before our reservation time and were seated promptly. Great. We sat down and were greeted promptly by our server. Since we didn't know what we wanted to drink, she left and came back. By the time she returned, we had decided on drinks and appetizers. When we tried to order drinks and appetizers, we were told our entire order needed to be placed at once or the kitchen would get mad. I've literally never heard of this before from any restaurant. And as someone who was a waitress for my college years and beyond, it doesn't make sense to me. Whatever. We ordered drinks, appetizers, and entrees. Wine and cocktail were both great (they almost earned this review a second star - note: almost). Fried Calamari appetizer was good not great. The creamy garlic sauce was underwhelming and pieces of the calamari were chewy/hard. We ordered the Hoboken Salad which was truly nothing special. I've had better salads at home or from local pizzerias. Now to the true disappointments. Our entrees arrived; a petite filet for me and a 24oz ribeye for my husband. Both steaks were ordered medium rare, both arrived medium. If you're a steakhouse charging $50 and $70 per steak, you MUST know how to cook a steak properly. The table next to ours sent their steak back because it was undercooked so it wasn't an isolated offense. HOWEVER, again, I was just grateful to be out enjoying date night. I didn't complain or make a fuss - especially since by the time we got our food, it was almost an hour after we ordered. And I've eaten medium steak before, it's not it's inedible IMO. Except this was the toughest steak I have ever eaten. I've been to steakhouses in New York, Chicago, Dallas, and Omaha. This was by far the worst piece of meat. I've made better steaks at home with meat I bought at the grocery store. Again, when the thing you order is in the title of your business, it should be good or great if not outstanding. This was almost inedible. I'm giving the leftovers to my dog since his teeth will be able to chew through it more easily. And the pièce de résistance. The bill arrived and to use a card versus cash resulted in an $11 fee. Honestly, if you're a "high end" steakhouse and you need to charge customers for using a credit card, you're doing it wrong. Asking for my Venmo would have seemed more professional. Take a short Uber/light rail ride to downtown JC and go to Fire and Oak where the service is great and the food is outstanding. You can thank me later.

Highly overrated. First night, the bacon app was undercooked (waitress was gracious and comped that). But steak was also overdone. Gave this a second try - was excited to be seated in the main dining room as requested - but were told what limited spots for couples of two were available in the main dining room were taken. So we sat back in the narrow side room like the first time - which honestly feels like a screened in porch. The waitress kept reaching behind my husbands head to reach her glass of water and other items she had resting in a hallow in the wall right behind him - felt like an invasion of personal space in already tight quarters. Steak was overdone again, and chewy. Also we found a nice little bug crawling up from under our table that we had to kill with the steak sauce bottle to make sure it wouldn’t be crawling around during dinner.

I wanted this place to deliver badly, but it fell short. Aside from the subpar service, incorrectly made cocktails and poor quality steak, the owner Dino himself was very dismissive and unreceptive to the feedback I provided him after the meal. I hope this review is read and heard by management so that improvements can be made to deliver the folks of Hoboken the proper steakhouse experience

I have been there several times in the past couple of months and have witnessed the owner throw people out with very little cause. We were celebrating a birthday and felt very uneasy after witnessing him try and remove someone physically. He overreacted so I think he was intoxicated or just extremely rude. We will not return since the behavior we witnessed on a 2nd occasion was also very disturbing. A customer asked if they could be seated elsewhere and he went off very rudely and said they could leave if they didn't like it. They left and I know that they were steady customers.

Honestly a subpar experience for the price. The tomahawk steak was tough, the Manhattans were shaken, not stirred and the service was super slow. We put in a second drink order and it was never placed with the bar. And the worst part was we tried to give the owner some feedback on our experience without asking for anything and he got super defensive and made so many excuses about why they underperformed. Unfortunately I want to love this place but you’re much better off going to the Capital Grille or Ruth’s Chris.

Went here last night with my friends for my birthday and our waitress was HORRIBLE she was rude and mean and was just ruining the vibes 2 steaks were over cooked and she came back and tried to tell us it wasn’t. My sister asked for boxes and she told my sister to calm down because one person was still eating. Second bad experience here. Best servers so far are Ruben and Sarah!

I tried going there twice, both I was denied service due to the placing being “over booked” despite being mostly empty. The second time I went at 5pm with the place mostly empty and I was still denied service. I went back a hour later and the place was still mostly empty. There was no reason to not have gotten seating other then their own stubbornnessI never felt so disrespected.

**FOOD POISONING WARNING**I waited a long time to post this review, reaching out to the restaurant multiple times about this experience and giving them an opportunity to respond. They’ve completely ignored my calls and emails so now I’m sharing my experience. We’ve been to Dino and Harry’s multiple times and only had good experiences, which is why this experience and their response was so shocking. We dined with a party of 10 for my wife’s birthday. Everyone ordered separate entrees except for 4 of us that shared steaks, potatoes, creamed spinach and bernaise sauce. The four people that shared the steaks and sides all experienced horrible “lower gut” symptoms that necessitated being close to a bathroom for the next 3 days. I suspect it was the bernaise sauce, but was unable to determine which entrée caused the food poisoning because the restaurant never responded to me.Very disappointing experience at a classic Hoboken restaurant. I understand mistakes happen, but the complete lack of a response is ridiculous.Eat at your own risk and maybe skip the steak sauce. Gross.

You know what lives rent free in my head? This porterhouse steak! I'm constantly trying to find another steak that compares. Truffle gnocchi is another must try. Very unique.

First time dining at Dino & Harry's and it did not disappoint. We made a res for Friday night which is recommended since it was very busy with live music at the piano. Service was great and attentive but not rushed and the food was delicious. Def recommend the porterhouse steak and tuna tartare. Great cocktails too!
