Loved this place. Atmosphere is great and has amazing high quality fish. We ordered the spicy tuna tartar, some blazed sashimi, the dragon roll, and miso soup. There is an open kitchen and you can see the chefs making all the foods for you. Would be great if price was a little lower but It was fine. Service was great and staff was really nice. Best Sushi in NYC!!!! Will definitely come again. Thank you Illuzion for a great meal!

Illuzion is the best ever. We have been coming to this spot for 5+ years. It is 1 of 2 places in Hoboken we leave Jersey City for. It is BYOB and always had great quality fish, great service and is not over priced. Highly recommend this spot.

Illuzion has secured itself a weekly slot in our dinner outtings.

My wife and I are avid patrons of notable Japanese restaurants in NYC.

In our first visit, when we searched for a Japanese restaurant to enjoy a special bottle of Chardonnay, we were met with the freshest selection of sashimi and sushi.

This was in early July and the offerings have consistently upheld its caliber and continually elevates their presentation.

The ambience is could not be warmer with a genuine welcoming by Chef, staff and Amy.

Chef surprises with delightful at every visit.

Staff are as informative as they as they are pleasant greeting us by names at this point.

Amy in particular, has made us feel at home with a sincerity that will make certain that you're well acknowledged.

Highly recommended -

I’ve been coming to Illuzion for about two years now, and it’s hands-down the best sushi spot in Hoboken. The quality and freshness are unmatched, by far the most fresh sushi you’ll find in town. The salmon is the best I’ve ever had anywhere….seriously…, and it keeps me coming back week after week.
Whether you order the sushi or sashimi regular or go for the deluxe(my go to order), you really can’t go wrong. The portions are generous, the fish is always perfectly cut, and the pricing is very reasonable for the quality you get.
On top of the amazing food, Amy and the wait staff are always so friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which makes every visit even better.
If you’re looking for consistently excellent sushi with great service at moderate prices, Illuzion is the place. Highly recommend!

Had a great experience here! The service was excellent, and the place is dog-friendly. The owner even prepared a special treat for my dog — so thoughtful and kind. Highly recommend!

Great Japanese spot in Hoboken. I got the chicken teriyaki bento box for lunch, and it is very filling and tasty. Comes with miso soup too! Service is always friendly and rarely a wait for lunch.

Takeout order was pretty disappointing. Eel cucumber roll I thought I had ordered the wrong item because I didn't even see the eel at first, it was barely a bump on the seaweed wrapper and was just a mouthful of cucumber. The chicken hibachi drowned in celery for some reason. The salad dressing was offputting. All around a fair bit of money for things better elsewhere in town.

Chirashi lunch is the best- great fish quality, super delicious. And they serve green tea not just in a cup, but bring an authentic tea pot with it. My go-to place for sushi in Hoboken!
