My very specific experience was a 2-hour reserved open with pizza, and while this isn't my preferred night out, the drinks were accurate and the pizza was tasty. We had a roped off area which was cool; however the speaker and DJ were also in that area. I am not a fan of yelling every word I use and that was consistent from when the party started until I had to leave because it was just too loud.. for me. Others may love that and if so, here's the place to be! Another part of the service is did not like was the open bar; it came with a menu that included different aspects of typical drinks, but no wiggle room to combine those things, are add non liquor drinks, like olive juice for example. That felt off and the person behind the bar was clearly annoyed as they bent the rule for one party guest, but not the rest of them. I likely wouldn't go back short of an event for a person I care about, however, if a loud bar that has a restaurant downstairs and tvs playing sports upstairs, this is a great place for you!

Our server, Antonio, was fantastic. I can't say enough about his service skills and humor. If we ever get back to the NYC area, we'll be back to Metropolis. We were a party of 12, it felt like it was just my wife and I, that's how personable Antonio was/is.

This place operates with a shocking lack of professionalism. The OWNER not only behaved rudely but also falsely accused us of something we did not do. What's worse, they made these accusations without any evidence, despite having security cameras that could easily confirm the facts. If management is reading this, I urge you to actually review the footage. You'll see the truth for yourselves. This kind of treatment is unacceptable, and unless serious improvements are made, I would not recommend this place to anyone. The bartender was great, management 👎

The only good part of this dinner was that the waitress was friendly. I cant say another good thing about it. One of the worst meals I’ve ever had out.
Started with getting a rude attitude while calling to let the host know that we may be a couple minutes late to our reservation due to a train delay (less than 5 minutes and the restaurant was empty when we arrived).
The rooftop area smelled terrible, had no good views, and there was minimal shade from the sun. We asked to eat inside instead.
We both ordered the metro burgers, mine medium rare and his medium. Both came out burnt, mine ever slightly pink on the very inside. His burger was cut in half in the bun, I assume to check whether it was pink inside. So his burger was just falling apart while he tried to eat it. The fries were cold and stale tasting. I think they dumped the last of a batch on my plate because I mostly had tiny burnt pieces of fries. Nothing had flavor except tasting like tons of salt and grease.
Our drinks were just as bad. I couldn’t even finish my wine. It was the worst tasting wine I’d ever had. I wouldn’t be surprised if the glass cost double what the bottle was. My partner ordered a soda that was flat.
Was beyond disappointed. This felt like a waste of a night out.

Metropolis is a very nice restaurant in the heart of beautiful Hoboken.
My brother and I ordered a bottle of wine and fried calamari with a red pepper sauce to start. The calamari was cooked perfectly and the sauce was flavorful with a well-balanced heat.
For dinner, I got fresh cavatappi pasta with braised beef. The pasta was cooked Al dente as i like it and the beef was moist and flavorful.
My brother ordered the steak frites, N.Y. strip steak, which was recommended by the waiter. The steak was cooked perfectly and my brother finished his plate. We even got a ooey gooey chocolate lava cake for dessert!
