Obagel has been my favorite bagel shop since I was a young boy. My diet as a kid consisted of a toasted everything Obagel with cream cheese or butter every morning. (Until I was told that I had bad breath and I switched to cinnamon raisin). If you are what you eat, I am basically a bagel from Obagel since I ate so many growing up. When I went away for college, the one thing I asked for when my parents visited was a dozen bagels from Obagel. I would brag to the masses that there was no bagel better than an Obagel. I was THAT Jersey kid who would debate anyone that an Obagel was better than anything from New York. I never thought the Hoboken location would compare to my hometown Obagel, but tell ya what, when I first moved to Hoboken and had a Bee Sting, I was in awe. I loved the Hoboken location at first… Anyway… after a long break from Obagel, I just had a THEC on an everything, and was left very underwhelmed. Barely any everything seasoning, and the bagel, which was once crispy on the outside and perfectly fluffy on the inside, tasted very generic… better, but almost like a bagel you would get from Dunkin Donuts, or a hotel. Not sure why the quality has fell off… maybe it’s because it has become more popular and it’s hard to meet the demand with the quality it once had, or maybe attention has been diverted to Mile Square Cafe. This isn’t a hit-piece (I’ll still go back and love the place after 15+ years of 5-star bagels), but more of a constructive critique to go back to the roots, that once made me love the crispy and fluffy Obagel. Thank you.

Placed an order for delivery through DoorDash this morning. No updates for over an hour, wouldn’t pick up the phone, and since they manage their own deliveries it was nearly impossible to get help through DoorDash.

Finally got through (to DoorDash) and got a refund, but so disrespectful and a waste of time. Answer the phone if you take someone’s money and can’t deliver their order.

My boyfriend and I have been to this bagel place before and were not wowed by anything but the bagels were decent. However, today we went about 15 minutes before closing, which we both realized was annoying, since we both have worked in customer service before, so we apologized for that. The worker decided to be passive aggressive about it further, he then proceeded to say that he could not make my order which was a simple toasted bagel with cream cheese, so unfortunately, we will not be returning. If you don’t want to serve people 15 min before closing then make your hours say you close at 2:45 not 3.

***UPDATE*** This is last time I'm visiting this establishment. Whether I walk in to place order or use the pick-up option through their site, my order is wrong everytime!!!

How hard is it to get right a whole wheat bagel with well done pork roll & cheese?!? Instead I get correct bagel, pork roll eh & EGG!

very overpriced compared to other options in hoboken and JC. $19 for a bagel sandwich and coffee is way too much.

I’ve tried to really love this place while I’ve lived here, but truth be told the customer service is terrible. I’ve been plenty of times and only ever had rude and couldn’t care less attitudes.

One of the best bagel places in the world! The Ridge Diablo is my favorite.

Best bagels in town in my opinion, but the way could be forever sometimes especially on the weekends. Staff does a pretty good job of keeping everybody happy and moving.

I heard they opened up a new spot in the neighborhood which is great. It’s nice to have good owners in the neighborhood.

Delicious bagels, friendly employees. The owner needs to install AC because it's got to be miserable in there on a hot day like today, and that's not fair to the employees. It was hotter inside than outside when I went this morning, and right now it's 86 out, so that's saying something. Please take care of your staff!

Ordered delivery. Food taking 90+ mins (and counting) and they will not pick up the phone at this point. Horrible service and will never order from them again.

By far, the best bagels in Hoboken/JC. The staff are hit or miss, which is par for the course in Hoboken. At the end of the day, I want a good bagel and they deliver.

They won’t serve you if you’re there at 2:55 even though they close at 3. Not cool.

I'll go out on a limb and say they might have the best bagels on the planet.
