I've only ever ordered their acai bowls and it's been disappointing. I regularly buy these from Playa Bowls or Frutta Bowls so I guess I have higher expectations since these places specialize in only these bowls. The açaí base at Shaka is always tasteless probably because it's made in advance and then frozen. I have gotten chunks of ice in my base which is very unappetizing. The fruit it usually too ripe also. Soggy strawberries and brown bananas don't make for a good bowl. The service is also disappointing. The person making the bowl always seems annoyed.

Shaka Kitchen has become one of my husband and I's go-to delivery spots! The food is fairly healthy while still being delicious and filling. The breakfast bowl is SO good - packed with so much flavor from the buffalo sauce and cheesy home fries. I also love the detox smoothie (banana, spinach, lime juice, and mango..so refreshing). For dinner, we've tried the lava rock shrimp appetizer (perfect portion to share and comes with plenty of crispy, spicy shrimp). We also order their poke bowls. I'm a little bit of a snob when it comes to poke, but for takeout this is pretty solid. The portions are pretty big and the fish always tastes fresh.

The bowls are our favorite healthy takeout ever! Always so fresh and you get so much food for the money

First time here today! Amazing place, the food was very tasteful, we ordered a Shrimp pineapple fried rice, a Crunchy Peanut Salad and 2 iced teas. Loves the fact that it was unsweetened iced tea, but my bf could’ve used the warning, but the food was OMG! Best salad I’ve had in a while and he loved his bowl. The place was clean, and the girl who took care of us was really nice and helpful when we were ordering. We’ll definitely be coming back soon!

Leaving two stars because I had an issue with my order and they never got back to me. And food was over pricey for the cost. I am all about small businesses and supporting local. HOWEVER, I was charged $17 almost $20 after tax on a bowl of rice with ten pieces of tiny shrimp. It was literally rice, scallion, and egg. The taste was not good I’d rate it 3/10. The smoothie I ordered tasted almost run down. They list their ingredients but besides mango I could not really taste anything else. Once again for the price range they need to kick up with taste. You can steam some kale and put dressing on it and label it as healthy but that doesn’t mean it was prepped correctly for the customer to enjoy the taste. Spent $30 for a lunch I could not enjoy nor finish.Once I again I tried to reach out directly but they never got back to me leaving me the option of sharing my thoughts online.

This was a nice casual spot for a healthy breakfast or lunch. There is seating both inside and outside.

Great spot in a Sunny ideal spot in Hoboken inside the Monroe building. Elizabeth & team blend up a variety of delicious smoothies. I recommend the coconut breeze. Haven't tried their salads yet but they look fresh and delicious!!

I ordered 2 -3 Kona Cod Beer Battered Tacos and I am disappointed. The tacos were made with a 1 single corn tortilla that was cold. The inside had the cod and tasteless; soaked in cabbage juice?. All I could taste was the cabbage. I also ordered the Buffalo Cauliflower Appetizer and I was also disappointed. The cauliflower was not properly coated and soaked in a bed of cabbage ? and the “Buffalo” sauce. It tasted more like vinegar and Worcestershire sauce. You could smell the vinegar and it was overpowering. Subtotal:$58.00Tax: $3.84Total:$61.84.Food is over priced and not good at all. I had to order pizza at the end of the night … that’s how bad and disappointing it was?.

Every time I come here the experience is just great. I’ve been coming to Shaka bowl ever since it opened, I used to come here every single weekend with my wife even if it was freezing outside. Didn’t matter to us because we loved the food, but also the great service your employees continue to have. Even though this past year we haven’t gone much because we moved to Bergen county and it is a bit of a drive, the times that we have drove back just for a bowl the service is still great and the bowl is still phenomenal. I hope you guys can open a location in Bergen County soon, me and my wife will most def be a huge supporter.Just wanted to also say I’ve read some of these reviews and to me someone who has been coming since the day they opened. Please don’t talk about experiences when it comes to their workers, their workers are so hard working and kind people. Even if you don’t like the prices understand inflation is a huge thing and this small business works day in and day out during the hard times in the pandemic to provide great service and great food for their customers. They deserve all the credit and glory their way.Once again to the owners and employees thank you guys so much for always providing me my wife a great experience. See you soon :)

Used to love this place. Was always expensive (~$14.75 with tax just for takeout). Now they've jacked prices to $15.50 *before* tax and charge EXTRA $2-3 just for meat (protein)! Are you kidding me!?? This is not an NYC Martini, dude, it's Hoboken takeout. Delicious, but I won't be going to Shaka Bowl anymore. Not going broke spending ~$20 for lunch for one meal...especially after paying to park anywhere nearby. Not worth it. Sorry
