Absolutely stellar experience. From being beginning to end. From the warm greeting from Juan and Brian upon entering, to the cheeky banter from chef johan, to the warm smile from Kevin. It felt as though I was being welcomed into the home of an old friend who had particularly exceptional taste in music. All in all, a lovely experience that I would definitely recommend.

We had the BEST time at Sushi by Bou—hands down one of the most fun and memorable omakase experiences we've had. The 17-course progression was incredible from start to finish: fresh, creative, perfectly paced, and genuinely exciting with every bite. Huge shoutout to Juan, the manager, who made the entire experience feel welcoming, seamless, and special from the moment we walked in. You can really feel the care and energy he brings to the room. And the chefs—wow. Absolute rockstars. Every course was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully explained. Special thanks to Chef Wynn (apologies if we misspelled the name!) for the skill, personality, and attention to detail that elevated the night even more. Amazing food, great vibes, and an unforgettable experience. We're already looking forward to coming back.

Excellent experience. If you are debating whether to go out here know that it is 110% worth it. Sushi was among the best I've had and the chef made it a special night.

This place is amazing! Highly recommend the omakase here, not too filling either with the 12 or 17 piece option. You also have the option at the end to order more. The sake flight pairs very well with the omakase. Great vibes with old school hip hop playing while eating amazing sushi. The chef and host were super nice. Everything was wonderful, we'll definitely be back!

this was a great experience. We loved it very much. It felt like a speakeasy and the fish was very fresh.

Unfortunately, Sushi by bou is starting to become cheap with the Omakase experience. Our favorite piece was the Uni with the wagu. Now they take a little bit of the uni and mix it with the sushi rice and top it off with the wagu. Extremely disappointing and it degrades the entire experience. I have to rethink about coming back once I've noticed the standard is going down. Super disappointed.

Also, the regular Omakase pieces need a bit of TLC. I shouldn't have to ask for a bit of soy sauce because of the piece was bland or had no flavor.

Let me tell you. This is Not Omakase. I have dined in at least 50 Omakase restaurants and this is just normal sushi bar.
Service & Atmosphere was good tho.

Food is just okay. I thought the price was reasonable (we did 17 course, $100 each person) but after trying it, it is overpriced.

If you are looking for just Casual Sushi Bar, this place fits that Category but definitely Not Omakase.

Fast food style omakase, dining time is exactly one hour. I have no issue with that, but overall sushi quality is very mediocre for the $150 price. It went heavy on sauces, which covered the texture and taste of the fish. Also, I had the worst toro in my life here - tendon in toro, can you believe it???

Maybe it is okay in NJ standards, but it is FAR from the average quality in NYC omakase for the price.

Worst experience was, SUGGESTED TIPS PERCENTAGE WAS AFTER TAX, which is totally unacceptable. Will not visit again.

It's a little rush since we ordered the 17 courses omakase. The chef didn't have much time to interact with us within the one hour meal. Overall it's still a good experience for the omakase.

Sushi fresh, excellent variety, fun and interactive with sushi chef. Excellent experience but wish is was 20-30 minutes longer- felt rushed. No spacing inbetween seatings so the room becomes cramped and uncomfortable. Thinking its not the norm but we had a 5pm reservation room had a weird bleachlike smell and air conditioning was blowing on a cold December night.

Restaurant is located inside the hotel at the lobby. The sushi here was just okay. The presentation was nice and the staff were friendly, but the fish itself wasn’t as fresh as I expected. The salmon and tuna had a slightly dull taste and softer texture than they should, which took away from the overall experience. Nothing was terrible, but nothing stood out either. It’s a decent spot if you’re nearby, but not somewhere I’d go out of my way for.

The restaurant's ambiance was wonderfully atmospheric, enhanced by the lighting. The special cocktails complemented the delicious and fresh sushi. It was absolutely delicious. While the reservation system made the service feel attentive but 60 minutes felt rushed… there wasn't even enough time to chat or take photos.

Best omakase place out there! Great vibes, better fish quality. Quick/easy/fun. Every time I go I walk out thinking I should eat here more.

I went for a 12-course meal but only received 8-course meal. When asked the chef, he didn't respond and went to other people
