If you are looking for upscale dairy in the greater Lakewood area, you need not look farther than Ottimo. They have been in Lakewood the longest for two reasons. Great consistent food paired with great staff. Recently, I stopped by to visit and try some new dishes. We started with a Tropical Tango smoothie and I got a Caramel Frappe sans whip. They happen to have amazing drinks, so naturally I had to try one. For apps, I have been a big fan of their amazing tuna tartar for the last two years. That’s why this time I wanted to try something different. So I went with the Tuna Tataki. I love fish and this dish didn’t disappoint. Perfectly seared tuna topped with jalapeno. We also ordered the world renowned Cauliflower Bites, which were crunchy, with a trio of sauces. We also got their very popular Crispy Brussel Sprout Caesar salad. The salad was really something else, very different from a classic Caesar with the addition of the Brussel sprouts, but with great aromatics and even better flavor. I am very picky with my salads, I don’t like too many toppings, but it was delicious. For our mains, we went with the Salmon Pinwheels, which consisted of Stuffed Salmon and panko horseradish. It was rolled and baked, served over a sweet potato puree, with a side of a green beans and a honey jalapeno sauce. The sauce was amazing and the fish was cooked to perfection. While it was an unusual collaboration, the taste was something else. Sweet yet spicy. We also ordered the Tortellini, which was sweet potato stuffed tortellini with broccoli, spinach, pistachio over a sweet Alfredo sauce, with a touch of maple syrup and grated parmesan. I like pasta dishes, and this was a whole new level. Creamy and packed with flavor, yet not heavy. Next was the pan seared gnocchi with confit garlic, truffle mushroom cream sauce over homemade potato gnocchi. Each piece was seared with a nice crust, yet pillowy soft inside. The cream sauce was a nice addition that pulled the dish together. Lastly, was the Eggplant Milanese, breaded and fried eggplant with a mixed green salad, fresh lemon juice, heirloom tomatoes, and an onion balsamic reduction on top of parmesan cheese. It was perfect, crispy on the outside and yummy on the inside. Always consistent, great atmosphere and a great dining experience.

Overall was a really nice pleasant experience We ordered mozzarella sticks that were very good, nachos were delicious the portion for that was smaller then our fat stomachs wanted, the margarita pizza was lacking cheese but otherwise good . the cheese fries were soggy and the fettuccine was not spiced enough . Still come here ! Great place :)

The food was good. The service was just ok.. on a busy Saturday night the waiter never came to ask if we wanted more water, the pitcher was empty for 1/2 hour. When we sat down my 4 yr old was unsure of what we should order, we wanted some of the food and to keep the menu the waiter said I can bring it back but you can’t keep it, what a turn off! I couldn’t keep the menu, the place was empty and I wasn’t planning on bringing it home. Next time I would hope he would think before he could say this to a mom and a child

As usual, the food was excellent, although the portion sizes were not necessarily as generous as other similar restaurants in the area with the same level of ambiance and in the same price range. I definitely recommend the restaurant however. The service was excellent as well. The overall four star rating is due only to the portion size.

Out meal was more expensive than it should have been. When we reserved, we were told there was a $45 per adult minimum. We had 7 adults and 5 kids 12 and under who ordered pizza fries and pasta. The adults ordered some starters, salads and about half ordered fish. After starters and main dishes and sides were finished, the waiter informed one of the adults in the party (not the host) that people needed to order dessert because we were under the minimum, so the kids and a cpuple of adults ordered dessert although we were full, hadnt planned on it and left much of it on the table. When the bill came it was $707.00. Even taking away the 20% obligatory large party service fee, the $590 or $84 per adult is way above the $45 per adult minimum and the dessert cannot account for that, so the waiter misinformed the party and jacked up the bill. Even $45 per person for all.12 people is $540 which is $50 less than we were charged before the 20% service. If you have a large party, beware of this upsell and the mandatory 20% service fee.
Great food, good service. The decor in the back room where they put us because of the kids is plain, not like the front of the restautant which is elegant, festive and lovely.
If not for the jacking up the price experience, I would rate the restaurant 5 stars. The food was great and one can order a very healthy meal.as well as an indulgent one. Plenty of kid friendly food and options too. The service was also excellent as it should be for 20%.
You must try the mac and cheese balls – they’re out of this world!
