Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard

So disappointed. My son is leaving for the Navy on Monday so this week has been all about visits to favorite restaurants and places before he goes. Rita’s was on that list. We ordered our items, which was a struggle to begin with and when we did finally get our order I noticed that one of the items had not been fully filled. I asked if they could add a little more custard - to which I was told “it’s fine”. Meaning what I had was what I was getting. I was rather disappointed with the customer service that I received, but wanted to avoid getting upset, unnecessarily or creating a scene, so we left with our food. When I got home, I could see that I had not overreacted. One of the items clearly has less product than it should. 2 have less product if you compare it to their marketing for the product. The first picture is directly from the website. The second picture is what we got - the 2 items on the left and right are what I’m referring to. The ones in the middle are perfect so not complaining about those.

Service was so bad and rude today

Ordered a chocolate milkshake with sprinkles. Didn’t get sprinkles and the custard tasted off. Tastes very artificial. Overpriced too.

Great place! Very convenient drive through open pretty late. If doing the drive through get the smoothie options, the one mixed with ice cream is delicious.

Well I normally go to 4 boys in downtown farmingdale. But they were having a problem today with the machine so we decided to try the Rita's that opened up near staples. I know they built where the bank was but damn 29 dollars for 2 soft serve and 2 kids icee. Never again will I be going there. I definitely will go to jersey freeze only 10 minutes down 9....... take this as a warning you will need to take a loan out for flipping ice cream

Love the fact there's a drive through quick and simple.
Got the new frozen lemonade pretty solid, it comes in lemonade mango and strawberry I got the mango pretty good stuff.

Dietary restrictions: Not a clue.

I pull up and I was surprised to see a drive through. So we go to the machine and see all the flavors. They even have a Dr pepper flavor. I got a large with Watermelon and Blue Raspberry and they put the flavors vertically. Everything they do here is top notch

I’ll start off by saying my wife and I have been to this location twice and twice we’ve had a bad experience. Our first visit they got our order wrong which we just chalked up to them being busy and really didn’t think it was a big deal but the second visit was enough to make sure we stopped coming here all together. Upon arriving with my wife and dog I went in and asked the gentleman behind the counter if I could bring my dog in, he said yes(which wasn’t his fault that he didn’t know). So I waved my wife in. Immediately we were met with attitude and a condescending tone from which we would assume was the manager. In a very aggressive tone without even greeting us she immediately said “you can’t bring THAT dog in here.” Before we could even acknowledge what she said or reply to her she walked to the back as if she only came out initially to be aggressive and rude to us. We have given this location more than one chance and were disappointed both times. Definitely would not recommend and will not be coming here again.

Spent $20 on 2 concrete. They give it to us both half empty. Disgusted.

Let me start by saying the staff were friendly and kind! Rita’s has always been a family favorite. We have be going to multiple locations for years. But the larger prices with way smaller portions? It’s just too much. $16.95 for two custards? As I said, we’ve been going for years and these are not the same sizes we used to pay for. Although the staff was amazing and we did tip, we will not be back. Jersey Freeze is only 15 minutes away and we could have gotten 3 large cups with an actual decent amount for the same price.

the new Kool aid flavor is delightful. the service is mostly college or high school kids working there but there are friendly keep the place very clean.

Kid-friendliness: there always kids sitting at the tables with their families or friends. After school seems to be the busy time.

I have always gone to Rita's in Howell. I stopped by today and had to return the custard. It taste terrible. I was told the owner changed to a different product. The owner needs to to stop wanting to save money on a different product. Bring back the correct Rita's custard recipe. you are going to lose business.
