Everything is old and rotten. I actually had mold on my patties and cake. The cake was so hard I couldn’t even cut it I had to throw everything out. Do not go there! It’s not

The nastiest patty I've had in my whole life. I've tried this place once before and it somehow has gotten worse. It's not a flakey, light delicate crust like a traditional Haitian patty. The crust is like bread. The filling is salty and sparse.

If Ican only give no stars. Hard patties, Burnt meat (little meat). The Dous was hard as rocks. Never again.

I am officially done buying from this place. The people that worked there are so disgusting for selling spoiled foods. The foods there are never fresh. I ordered pate kode from them in the past and it tasted so horrible it had a sour bitter taste and you can tell by the taste and smell that it was not fresh. I even ordered cake it had a strong mold taste and smell it was also hard too. I would not recommend this place for anyone be careful food poisoning is no joke.

Once upon a time, more than a decade ago, I would frequent this bakery to get my Haitian pate fix. Back in the day, it was known as Pi Bon Pate Bakery. I recently stopped in after a gap of at least 5 years. It must have gone through some sort of change at some point in the recent past because now the interior and exterior look done over - but not to look good or better... just different colors and a slight adjustment to the business name.Whatever the case may be, this bakery has not been well-maintained over the years. Nowadays there is a noticeable lack of TLC on both the interior and exterior, the selection is very limited, and the product placement is poor. When a patron enters a bakery, the finished goods on display should tittilate their senses and prompt them to buy whatever floats their boat. But there is no such appeal when you look at the baked goods counter in this place. HUGE missed opportunity. Had it not been for the fact that I patronized in the past and was counting on the same delicious Haitian patties, I would have done an immediate about face. Honestly it doesn't look very clean in that case, but the patties aren't stored there. So I was willing to roll the dice. Unfortunately my recent pate experience left much to be desired. While their patties are filled to the max ( much more abundantly than at other Haitian pate spots ) the taste of their filling lacked seasoning and soul. It also seemed as if they were adding potatoes or bread crumbs to the filling perhaps to stretch it out. Usually the filling in Haitian patties is just meat and veggies (sans potato). I'd rather have less filling that tastes great than have a bloat of bland filling. Color me disappointed. Demerits! The puffed pastry dough tasted great, but no gold stars there because it's hard for a bakery to get that wrong. I also bought a carrot juice to go. It tasted okay but wasn't what I expected. It would've made a good addition to my coffee to sub out CoffeeMate. That's how sweet and creamy it was. I really wanted to give this place a good review, but it has fallen off big time.

The Haitian bread here is so good, fresh, and soft!

Just purchased a dozen pate; 6 chicken and 6 fish. All of it taste sour and stale. This isn't an isolated incident. Next time I will take the drive from Montclair to Elizabeth when I need decent Haitian pate. Receipt is attached as proof. Disgusting and I am quite Disappointed that they would knowingly sale this garage ?

Molded cake in the display. Owner didn’t care that it will contaminate the other cakes. Found roaches as well. How does this place have a 4.3 stars rating? ?
