I ordered the fried whiting fish which was very bland and tasteless and the baked Mac and cheese which was pretty good. As I walked to exit the restaurant, someone locked the door, prohibiting me from leaving. I thought the door was jammed until I heard a click at the top of the door. Not sure why they did that and why they took so long unlocking the door. I will not be returning to this restaurant.

I go to the Roy's in Linden and the food is very good the oxtails, the stewed chicken, Mac and cheese, the yams are scrumptious, the potatoes salad is very tasty and i dont like potatoe salad, the fried chicken wings are deeelicious and to top it off the peach cobbler, sweet potatoes pie and the carrot cake is dangerous, just soOo gooood the place is small but always kept clean and the customers are coming in and out I went their one evening toward closing and they had nutin but oxtails left and that was a small amount which speaks volume but I really wanna mention and rate the service as this is what makes a good business and is just as important as good food I give Roy's an extra ☆☆☆☆☆ 5 stars for Ms Jay and Ms Shana the both of them are just lovely they both are professional with the customers and their communication is very tasteful they both are just pure aaaadorable I pray that you have nutin but increase ~ blessings endlessly ❤️

Haven't been to Roy's since they remodeled. As I have always experienced, the fish was outstanding(not greasy) & the Lemon Cake is still delicious. Not to crazy about the hush puppies. I think that they may have changed the recipe.
The catfish is my favorite. It was fresh crispy and hot. They went the extra step of poking holes into the aluminum foil so the steam won't make it soggy. So thank you and i hope they keep doing that. My only issue was the shrimp was fried hard. It came with a bunch of hot sauce and tartar sauce.

Spent 80.00 here 09/30/22 On food and also brought banana pudding and cake and pumpkin pie and I started to eat my beautiful banana puddling until a horrible taste than when I looked down there was mold in the puddling please check your food .
