Very bad experience. I ordered misal pow, then I ordered for tari/ curry, they said no, you have pay for one more misal pow. That means pay 12 USD for 2 USD tari

This place is amazing. I grew up eating Marathi food and I miss it in the US as most Indian restaurants serve either North or South Indian food. This is a unique restaurant serving Maharashtrain food and it was absolutely delicious. We had a great time. The staff were so friendly and respectful. They were very sweet to my American partner and they made sure to alter the spiciness of the food for her taste. She enjoyed the food too. Everything was fresh and felt light even though we ordered a lot. It just tells you that they didn’t use weird ingredients that make you feel bloated. I wish I was a local in the area to enjoy this food often but I will be definitely going here whenever I am in town. Go try the food.. I don’t think you will be disappointed!

This restaurant is definitely overpriced. It charges prices similar to some of the finest dining places in NJ. The food is okay. Every curry tastes the same as it is cooked in the same Saoji masala.

Neeraj and Swapna have catered at 2-3 of our events. They have managed to deliver on some exotic dishes year after year. Good food is extremely important for the success of any event, and the personal touch they provide ensures quality food and service. I have ordered 15+ dishes in each event with 80+ guests and each dish has exceeded expectations. I don’t post restaurant reviews but could not stop myself from posting about Nagpur Saoji.

Very poor experience. We visited for lunch, and had called ahead to check if the restaurant was still open. We were assured that they were open and we could come in. However, the minute we reached we were asked to wait AND we were rushed to pick our food since the "kitchen is almost closed, the guys come in at 6:30am etc etc". If only they had given us this heads up when we had called. Anyway, to expedite things we ordered a non-veg thali. And then we waited, and waited, and waited...The strange thing was they were still ushering in new customers even though we were told the kitchen was closed. Finally, after a long wait, our food arrived. The quantity was low, taste was bland, the masala tea I ordered was cold. And to top it off, our order was wrong. When we brought this to notice, we were told that we would get a corrected order in "2 minutes". The order never arrived. We just requested the check, paid and left.

I ordered chicken curry, and it was hands down the worst meal I’ve ever had in my life. The chicken had a foul smell, and the curry itself was undercooked, with raw masala that made my stomach upset. The naan, despite being the most expensive in the area, was stale and rock hard—completely inedible, not something you’d serve to a human, let alone an animal.

We also tried the tandoori momos and vada pav, which weren’t as bad but still not worth it given the quality of the rest of the meal. Extremely disappointing overall!

Very authentic Maharashtrian food we have had in NJ! Everything we had was fantastic - right fragrance, color, mix of tastes and texture! Awesome level of detailing, be it the flavors itself, or coriander garnishing, or side of lemon and onion. What we also loved is that everyone in the Saoji team seemed happy and passionate about food and customers - great service! Freshly made shrikhand from fresh 'chakka' elevated the entire food experience and thank you to Vinit for that! They also have a Chitale in-store, with a great variety. All in all - loved it!

The food was excellent until six months ago. Now, with the evident cost-cutting measures and higher prices, the quality and taste have noticeably declined. :(

Amazing food. Tried both the saoji and kolhapuri chicken. Both were good, especially the Saoji chicken. Tarri Samosa was very good as well. Definitely recommended.

Authentic Maharashtrian and Goan cuisine with large vegetarian and non vegetarian menu.

Saoji style curry was watery but very delicious. Vada paav and kothimbir vadi was highly recommended for appetizer.

Misal paav is a must try if you are a spicy eater and pairs well with sol cudhi which is kokum inspired drink.

Shrikhand is highly recommended for dessert.

Overall amazing experience from food to service and atmosphere. Highly recommended if you are looking to experience different cuisine and lots of flavors.

Parking: Restaurant is not visible from the street but it has a huge parking lot. It is located in the Sitar Emporio building.
