We've planned to eat at this place many times before but skipped due to its not so great review. Finally we gave it a shot and we're glad that we did. There are many Indian restaurants in nj, but almost all of them have very predictable menu (even if the names of the dishes are different across restaurants, they are essentially same thing). The yellow chilli is distinctly different. And most importantly, the food quality is way better than any other Indian restaurant I've tried in NJ.

Amazing food ,great presentation, good service and friendly and kind staff. We were the last guest arrived at9.30 pm. They still served such a great quality food. Desi Manchow chicken soup, Amritsari Machchi, Lazeez murg tikka masala with Rumali roti and Garlic naan we ordered and my kid got a complimentary mango lassi.

Food is fantastic. Talked to Chef Babul. His recommendation of starters won our hearts. Peru Pyala drink was exotic. Bhatti ka zinga was mouth watering. Never tested such Indian dishes anywhere in USA

Ambience GreatAllotted free parking spaceTaste and presentation was greatPrice-A bit expensive as compared to other Indian restaurants. 18% gratuity added for 6 or more guests.Service was very prompt and staff was very polite.Starting with soups Manchow soup is much better than tomato soup! So must try it had a great taste. For vegetarians Ghara dum k aloo as entree and chana zor tikki as starter is a good option.Spinach chat was also tasty and crispy. For non-vegetarians Manchow chicken soup will be a delight. Tandoori chicken was great too!Sanjeev Kapoor’s recepies do have some magic? If you are in New Jersey get an experience of this one too.

So i walked in for lunch in an absolutely empty restaurant and i got worried as to how it is going to be. After about 2-3 mins of thinking my wife suggested that we leave but I insisted to stay and boy i made the right call. What amazing food they make everything that we ordered was so delicious. Will definitely repeat as I would love to try their other items on the menu

Simply 5 star high quality and super delicious food. Loved the menu book, quite impressive. Especially the hot and sour soup was the star. Chai was also good. Angoori rasgulla was the only subpar everything else was so well cooked. Spices were perfectly balanced and well cooked in curries we ordered. Would visit again. Highly recommend.

I guess I didn't have enough to drink here ? - the food was a sore disappointment! Spice does not equal to taste - please understand that!!! The three stars are for 1) the staff - very hospitable, checked in appropriately for more side items, and generally very personable. 2) The bar - good selection of Indian origin beer, wine, and liquor. And 3)The facilities - easy and ample parking, and a well designed dining area. If you do like spicy food - this may be worth the spend!

This Restaurant owned by Indian Celebrity Chef Sanjeev Kapoor (known for his unique crafting and re-inventing of popular regional dishes) was recommended to us by a few friends. It took us a while to make it here due to COVID, but we finally decided to give it a try. As soon as we entered the building, we could not help but notice the large murals and signs with a picture and signature of Mr. Kapoor. That raised our expectation of the place quite significantly. Two of us arrived here for lunch at 12 PM. They had literally just opened, and were clearly unprepared for customers since they were still mopping the floors, yet all the staff was very welcoming, friendly and courteous. Since we were the only ones there, we had the choice of any table that we wanted. We picked a corner booth near a bunch of windows. As we were browsing through the beautiful and colorful hard board Menu, we just had to smile at seeing more photos of the Chef inside and outside of the menu. We have dined at a bunch of restaurants owned by celebrity chefs, but had never seen this much “in your face” reminders prior to this place. Wow! The Menu had several options with creative twists that were a little unfamiliar to us. Luckily the staff was milling around and very willing to help us out in making good selections. We settled on Chanajor Garam Tikki and Amritsar Macchi for Appetizers, and Meen Moilee Fish Curry with Plain Rice and Peshawari Naan for the Main Course. Every item was flavorful, appetizingly plated and beautifully presented. We would have preferred a little spicier fare, but were full and satisfied at the end of our meal. The Peru Pyala with Chilli on the rim was absolutely delicious, and the perfect drink accompaniment. The portions were large enough for us to carry home some leftovers for another meal. The Bartender, Daniel was fantastic. He was attentive, chatty and helpful, without being intrusive, and gave us some good suggestions. Our server (unfortunately did not get his name) was also very efficient and sweet. The décor is modern, and has the right color palette for a dining establishment. Loved the colorful NYC Murals and the Pendant Lighting. We will have no hesitation in passing the word around for this place, and would certainly love to return to sample some other creative dishes.

Service is so bad that Ok food gets two stars. Service was so slow I couldn’t order another drink before my dinner was over. Our was served cold as it was waiting for few minutes before served. Taste was not top notch. Good dessert which gets 2 stars.

It was my first visit and the food was very tasty and excellent. I like the service of the staff when I went there to pickup the food. I had ordered some Punjabi items and some of the starters to start with which was very much up to their mark. The food quality was very good and the restaurant was very hygienic. The staff members were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend anyone to visit the Yellow Chilli restaurant.

Loved the ambience. The food is amazing great taste- not greasy oily. Spice is medium even after you say spicy but that’s okay. Appetizers- Mushroom filled one was too good out of the world, Panner tikka was average- not spicy. Spring rolls the regular ones- we got fooled by the fancy name to realize it was spring roll. We ordered a leafy green salad which took 40 mins and came out with sliced carrots and cucumber and whole leaf of cabbage it was such a turnoff my kid ordered that and was totally upset. The bagare baingan was too good, chicken chcettinad was good I heard. Gulab jamun is 7.99 but got a large one which could be shared by 2-3 people and it was delicious so worth the money. Yes it’s a expensive place but overall good once in a while.

It's a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Excellent starters. But the service is too slow. If you are a Master Chef Sanjeev Kapoor's fan, you should try it.

Location wise close to shopping and parking was no problem. Ambience was good and comfortable. Food was tasty and had a special taste not the usual Indian dishes, could taste some real flavors. We tried the tikki chat(10/10), manchow soup(9/10),chicken biryani(8/10),goat curry(9/10),malai kofta(7/10).The restaurant had one man who was very professional and friendly (Danny)catering to all tables which was like a miracle to us, the food was on time and had no issues in service whatsoever.Danny also suggested ginger martini which was very good. I would look forward to eat here again.
