Authentic stone baked bagels, well priced menu. Usually pretty quiet during the day. Good place for a meeting or to get some work done.

Bagels are A+. Authentic Jewish Bagels: Chewy and doughy.
Service: The cashiers/baristas are nice, but if you come early- like when they just open - they won't have all of the bagel options available. This is no bueno. If you open at 8am, have the full menu available at 8am. Come in early and get baking so when you're open everything is ready. I had to wait 30 min for any other bagel outside of plain, everything and wheat.
Atmosphere: Place is kind of gross. Bathrooms are disgusting. General counter, coffee machines and display windows just look dingy and unkempt. Just looks like no one gives a damn.

Not friendly, at all. I have 50 bagel places to choose from in the area-be appreciative of every customer that comes in.
The bagel was great. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside BUT they lost me with the smear of cream cheese. I asked for warmed with cream cheese. It wasn’t warmed and there was a tablespoon of cream cheese.
If it was their intention for me not to be a returning customer, they did a great job.
Nope!

These bagels taste like the real thing—crusty outside, chewy inside, and you can tell they’re actually kettle-boiled and stone-baked. They taste really fresh, not like the usual supermarket stuff. The rest of the food is solid and portions are big enough that you don’t walk out hungry. Plenty of seating and enough staff that things move pretty quickly. Overall, a great spot if you’re in the mood for fresh, legit bagels.

This place is incredible, with delicious delicious real kettle boiled bagels of all sorts, along with additional incredible options for the most gourmet brunch ever. My favorite would have to be the everything egg bagel with or without a mushroom onion omelet, but literally everything is amazing. I highly recommend.

If you ever wanted to understand what true malchus looks like, come to Bagel King — because these bagels aren’t stam; they’re royal family.
So I walk in one random morning, half awake, hoping for something to revive me after a late-night farher (okay fine, it was just me shmoozing till 2 AM). The moment I open the door, BOOM — that warm bagel smell hits me like a hug from a bubbie who thinks I’m too skinny. Instantly awake. Instantly happy.
Let’s talk about the bagels themselves:
Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside — basically the middos of a perfect chosson.
You bite in and suddenly you understand why people line up here like it’s Erev Yom Tov and someone announced free kugel.
Their everything bagel?
Bro. BRO.
There’s more seasoning on that thing than there is in half the shuls on Simchas Torah. Flavor for days. The spreads? Fresh. Generous. Not “stingy shmear” like some places that act like cream cheese is a luxury item.
The staff? Absolute legends.
Fast, friendly, and somehow able to deal with customers ordering five different complicated sandwiches while still being patient enough to smile. That’s not customer service — that’s ahavas Yisroel.
And the vibes? Solid.
Clean place, good energy, and a menu big enough that you stand there pretending to skim it while you already know you’re getting the same thing you always get.
Bottom line:
If you’re in Lakewood/Howell and you want a bagel that slaps harder than a rebbi waking up a sleeping bochur, Bagel King is the spot. Consistent, tasty, heimish, and worth every penny.
Highly recommend. Will I be back?
Already planning my next order.

Bagel King is a Jackson staple. My go-to place for breakfast, lunch, or just a drink when I'm in the area.
The refreshers are underrated! They're actually REFRESHING 🤩.
Their drive thru is quick and easy, and the indoor seating is just as nice. Large windows... lots of sunlight, and never too crowded.
Only 4 stars because more than once, there were a few menu items listed that were out of stock / unavailable.
