Kalamata Italian Café — the place that somehow makes you feel like you’re in yeshiva… just with way better food and no one asking you to bentch already.
I’ve been to Kalamata more times than I can count, and every time I walk in, I tell myself, “This time, I’m ordering something light.” Five minutes later, I’m sitting there surrounded by plates like it’s Shalosh Seudos in a big yeshiva dining room.
The setup is classy but still comfortable — like it’s saying, “Yes, we’re fancy, but you can still sit here with your hat on the chair and no one will judge.” The staff is always friendly, patient, and somehow manage to carry twelve plates at once without looking stressed. It’s mamish a talent.
The food? Oy. The food is on a whole different madreigah. Everything comes out fresh, hot, and plated like someone with actual kavod made it. Whether it’s pasta, fish, salads — it all hits the spot like a warm kugel after a long morning seder.
And portion sizes? Let’s just say I’ve never walked out hungry. It’s one of the only places where you don’t need to stop for a snack afterwards “just in case.”
Service is fast, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the whole experience is consistently geshmak. You can come with family, friends, a chavrusa — it works for everyone.
Bottom line: If you’re in the mood for solid, reliable, delicious dairy food in a place that runs smoother than a well-practiced chazzan, Kalamata is your place. Highly recommended.

I went to Kalamata to meet my uncle and my cousin for lunch. We were served by Angie. She was knowledgeable, patient and provided excellent service.. The food was delicious and the ambiance outstanding. Thank you for serving a great lunch!
