Bagara N' Biryani Indian Restaurant— BYOB

Horrible experience yesterday, first when I walked in they havent got my order from their website and I had to show it on my email to proof that I have an order.

Had to wait for another 30 min for them to prepare my order, ofcourse they forgot my only ask for one dish being for the kids is not to be spicy and unfortunatly it came out the spiciest .. spicier than chili chicken really, although I mentioned it 3 times while ordering.

The biriyani here specializes in masala flavored rice and in abundance. Sometimes, if you are lucky you may find some meat as well. The biriyanis served here are almost suitable for vegetarians, yes even the chicken and/or goat biriyanis; boneless or on-the-bone --- reason you ll hardly find any meat at all in either of the biriyanis (plenty of masala flavored rice however). Almost a carb loaded biriyani, btw, no animals are harmed in the preparation of their biriyanis, since you ll seldom find any meat at all. And mind you this is not a review from a one off trip. This is from someone who frequented it often until the above stated became a pattern. On other occasions, without blinking these people would serve burnt biriyani (yes blackened chicken) and not have the slightest of remorse but would sneakily just pass it through. Overpriced and not worth it. Cheap tactics work once or a couple of times, wont retain customers for the long term, however. I seriously doubt the 5 star reviews.

I catered from them for a small gathering at home and am very pleased with their service and their food.
Our guests enjoyed the food, it was delicious. They particularly liked Veg pulao, chilli chicken and chicken tikka masala, they delivered food in a large hot box which was mighty helpful as it kept food warm till the time it was served.

This is a solid casual local spot in the Jamesburg area for S.Indian flare with a full menu of dishes from all parts. Great dosa spot! Plus some signature dishes - highly recommend the Chicken 555, Butter Chicken and any Biryani. Make sure to ask for the right spice level to your liking.

PLZ DON’T GET MISLEAD WITH CURRENT REVIEWS.

Absolutely terrible experience with this restaurant. I ordered food for a group of 12 people and was quoted a completely different price than what was charged at pickup. Initially, I placed an order for:
• 2 Family Packs of Veg Manchurian
• 1 Large Tray of Veg Dum Biryani

The owner was already confused during the call—he called me back three times, changing the price each time. Eventually, he confirmed the total would be around $145, quoting the large tray as $100 and $20.99 per family pack.

However, when my friends went to pick up the food (they weren’t informed about the expected price), they were told the family packs were $45 each, and the total suddenly jumped to $200.

When I called back to confront the owner, he rudely said “don’t blame me” and hung up mid-conversation without any explanation or accountability.

This is not just poor communication, it’s misleading pricing, unprofessional behavior, and a lack of basic customer service. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a reliable and respectful dining experience.

It’s online order . Please Don’t even try . ordered chicken Dum Biryani and Chicken Bagara Bowl . Chicken I think he made a day or 2 days back kept 2 leg pieces which are completely burnt . Don’t know how he is surviving with this kind of food quality . Bagara bowl same no different. There smell in food . Horrible and really bad food good thing after a spoon of taste we throwed everything if not we would have hospitalized. Thank god

Wow! Food was AMAZINGGGGG. Must try their Brinjal Bagara and baby corn Manchuria. It was a sunny afternoon and we went out for a lunch. This was our 1st time. The man in the front desk welcomed and seated us immediately. We asked house favorites he gave us some suggestions. We ordered as he said and guess what its the Best I can say. I absolutely fell in love with brinjal bagara. The rice cooked to perfect and brinjal was soft reminded hyderabadi style. Gravy was delicious. Panner Biryani is okay, they should work on biryani as I felt like turmeric rice and panner felt solid, wasn't up to the mark. Starters were soo good. We dine in and ordered again for take away. Service was great and friendly. That Man really gave us good hospitality in resturant. We all watched a movie and enjoyed though he concentrated on rest of his tasks. No hype in ambience absolutely looked like Indian Restaurant with minimal decor which reminded us of India. Overall experience is 100/10. Great find and I wish they could open a branch in Newark. Trust me You will get more business here in Newark.
