I’ve been going here since forever. I am so happy the restaurant was able to extend ! If it’s a family ordering, I recommend getting the Combo Don Pepe (pollo entero, chaufa de pollo y ensalada ), fried yuca, and maduros. One order should be enough for about 4-5 people. Loveee it here !!
Small update 8/11/25 : The styrofoam containers that they use are no good. The food was so hot that it melted the container and now there’s styrofoam stuck to my food. They need to switch the containers to those hard plastic ones. That’s the only thing I don’t like :/ It’s for our health.

I've been a customer of Don Pepe since before they moved to their new location, and I can say that my experience was always good, but today wasn't that day.
When we arrived, no one greeted us, so we walked in and sat down. A female server walked to our table, said HI, and handed us the menus. Then, she walked away. After a couple of minutes, she came and took our drink order. We had to ask the server to please take our appetizer order as well.
After taking our oder and our appetizer arriving we never so the female server again a nice gentleman came and took over the table with a great attitude and a more detailed service he was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed unfortunately so did the flys to the point where we couldn't eat our food at the restaurant and decided to take everything to go.
Advice for management and owners, this restaurant needs better cleaning and maintenance (bathroom). As a customer, I was very upset because my date did not enjoy the experience due to the magnitude of flies roaming our table and food.
Will come back in the future to give it another chance, the food is still very good But i would recomend to just order to go and avoid the headache.

I live in NYC and Peruvian food, especially Ceviche, is a favorite. I ordered Ceviche Mariscos online. Pick up time was 6pm. At 540, I got a text, it's ready. I arrive at 555, it's not ready. Far worse was that the Mariscos turned out to be ALL SHRIMP - no calamari, scallops, pulpo or oysters. I wasted $30 on shrimp and medicare leche de tiger - that I could have made myself. It was Monday and they must have been out of everything - and did not bother to communicate with me. This was my last trip Don Pepe.

The food is amazing here, and their pisco sour drink (maracuya flavor) is amazing! Got me buzzed with two 😋 great place to come with your loved ones. Usually, I'm picky about food places, but this place actually met my expectations for Peruvian food. The dish I got was bistec a lo pobre and let me tell you, it was super delicious ! I also loved the presentation super photo worthy!

Party of 4 seated at 6:50pm, Recieved our drinks at 7:27. Food came 15-20 mins after on a not so busy Thursday night. They seem to be short on staff but they are friendly. Menu is a mess with too many options. Your eyes cannot keep up with so many items. Seems like you are reading a book. Place is clean and tidy but feels crowded. Food presentation is great and tasty, drinks were also on point. Kids asked for the pizza which was not so great and mini burgers were average. I would give it another try if they work on waiting times and service. 20% “service charge” included even though the service was awful.
