Torshi in Newark is a hidden gem for Mediterranean food! The customizable bowls are packed with fresh, flavorful ingredients, and the chicken kebab was perfectly seasoned. The ambiance is peaceful with a great view of the Passaic River, making it a relaxing spot to enjoy a meal. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the baklava was the perfect sweet ending. Highly recommend for anyone craving delicious Mediterranean cuisine!

I have been wanting to come here for awhile. We finally made it and it was WORTH IT. I love exploring cultures through food - and this spot is definitely a local treasure. Incredible food, and incredible people working there that guide you through all the different options. Can’t wait for summertime - they have an outdoor area! The only thing missing is ——- good Egyptian COFFEE ☕️ that you could enjoy with their incredible baklava or a homemade recipe of rice pudding ——- which the owner gave me for free to try. So good. Healthy good food is hard to find - just found it. Thank you. 😊

Kid-friendliness: I saw several mothers with children. The owner was talking to the children 🥰 very nice guy!

First time here and the chicken shawarma bowl was excellent… and so much food I could have easily gotten two meals from it. So many great flavors and sauces. Service was kind, helpful, and patience with my cluelessness. I’ll definitely be back.

Lights are stadium level bright but the food is delicious. There’s so many paces that have this type of food but the flavor is excellent

Overall, the food was enjoyable, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. However, the gyro meat was slightly dry, likely because it had been pre-cut in advance rather than freshly sliced to order. A little more attention to freshness could elevate the experience, but otherwise, a solid meal!
