Fair prices, friendly and efficient staff, generous portions. Enjoyed the warm, atmosphere and Irish Pub feel. Would definitely recommend McDonaugh's and return again!
Thank you Sam for your kind smile and attentive service. My hubby had a burger. It was cooked to his preference. I had the pulled pork, less the coleslaw, with fries. I ditch the soft brioche bun and use the fries as a bed for my pork. So bad for you, but it tastes delicious. I enjoyed that with a glass of house Pinot. My only complaint is that they no longer has the doughnut dessert. They only serve fried dough stuffed w Oreos. Love this place!
I got the worst case of food poisoning after having a burger here. I will never be back.

Our quest was for THE BEST fish and chips in all of Ireland. We were relentless. From the moment we got off the airplane in Dublin, we ate fish and chips -- in Dublin, Waterford, Cobh, Kinsale, on the Beara, in Dingle. When we walked through the door at McDonagh's in Galway, a no-frills purveyor of fish and chips, we asked a customer sitting nearby, "Are the fish and chips good here?" He replied, "The best in the west." My friends, that man was wrong. These are the best fish and chips in all of Ireland. Fresh. Delicious. Firm. Hearty. Comforting. Exactly what you want when you want fish and chips. We salute you, McDonagh's.

We ordered the sweet chili Thai salmon, and it was good. There's nothing to brag about. But the fish and chips, the fish was hard and the batter had a frozen taste. I guess the fish was frozen box fish. We don't like sending food back but we had to. So he tried the cheese burger, and that was so salty. Tried the chips and salsa, and the salsa tasted like canned salsa. Not happy!

Man, was this a disappointment! We planned on staying late to enjoy the music but the combination of bad service and bland food made us want to leave as soon as possible. The burger tasted only of char from the grill. Which is weird because it was supposed to have beer cheese in it. Barely any. The fish and chips were greasy and absolutely flavorless. We took the food with us but we probably won't eat it. Our undiscerning teenage boys will. It's a shame because we've been here before and everything was good. To the server: when you ask, "Is everything good?" and the customer says, "Kinda" that's your cue to ask questions. To just hand us a check instead makes us not want to come back.

Walked in during Happy hour. Great ambience and service. If it wasn't an hour away from me I'd be here a lot.
