Went to McDonagh’s on a Tuesday night! The restaurant was packed with people playing DJ Trivia. Great service, the pizza is amazing!! The trivia game was fun. What a great place to go on a Tuesday night ! Highly recommend 10/10
Our quest was for THE BEST fish and chips in all of Ireland. We were relentless. From the moment we got off the airplane in Dublin, we ate fish and chips -- in Dublin, Waterford, Cobh, Kinsale, on the Beara, in Dingle. When we walked through the door at McDonagh's in Galway, a no-frills purveyor of fish and chips, we asked a customer sitting nearby, "Are the fish and chips good here?" He replied, "The best in the west." My friends, that man was wrong....
We ordered the sweet chili Thai salmon, and it was good. There's nothing to brag about. But the fish and chips, the fish was hard and the batter had a frozen taste. I guess the fish was frozen box fish. We don't like sending food back but we had to. So he tried the cheese burger, and that was so salty. Tried the chips and salsa, and the salsa tasted like canned salsa. Not happy!
