Definitely remembered this place from when I was in high school so when googling for a breakfast spot and it came up as a suggestion I couldn’t help myself! A real classic dinner (not 50s on purpose) just local people eating typical breakfast fare, nothing fancy, a good spot to stop and grab something on the way to wherever you’re headed.
I love this dinner and have gone there for over 30 years, but today, the service from the older waitress was the worst. She gave me a used coffee cup. It had egg stuck to the top by the handle, and coffee drips on the opposite side from the side I use. The top rim on that side was sticky. To top it off, she didn't even look at us when she gave us the bill. No review is better than a bad review.
This is one my favorite places for breakfast or lunch in the area. I typically get the Breakfast Deluxe which has 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, bacon and toast for around $9. My lunch favorite is the Broadway Combo. It’s a pastrami / corned beef sandwich on a bed of coleslaw on rye bread with thousand island dressing, coleslaw and a pickle for $8. The prices are great and the food is good. Keep in mind that they only take cash.💵
