Cannot rave about Giardino Sul Mare enough! Excellent service all around from the staff members. If you want delicious Italian food in the area, 100% check them out!
I was so disappointed in the restaurant. I took my father on a Sunday. There is only one person in the entire dining room. There was also only one table we were told to sit and wait to be seated, finally seated bride was tossed onto the table, water never poured. It was his family. We decided to leave and go to the captains, Inn… Where we were welcomed with open arms. As we were leaving, the server told us well. We should have a reservation… Extremely unprofessional and certainly not welcome. Again extremely disappointed.
Consistently excellent. Dined here many times. Never disappointed. Linguini with white clam sauce is one of my favorites.

We been going here for years. It seems like ever since New ownership this place went downhill. Sorry to say we will never be back. The place is dirty , food sucks and also had hair in it.

This wonderful hidden gem never disappoints. The drinks, food and service are top notch. My husband and I have never had a bad meal here and they give you enormous portions that make for a great leftovers the next day. They also don’t rush you and take the time to make sure that you’re enjoying your dining experience. Always a treat having dinner here!

Food was terrible rubber shrimp, pasta with no taste and Fried Calamari that was undercooked. Won’t go back. Go somewhere else.

Returned to Il Giardino after several years to find new ownership. The food was still outstanding. The owner was a wonderful host and the service was great. Pleasantly surprised. I WILL be back!

My 3 ingredients drink was bitter, and I asked for more of one ingredient than another. The remake was better. It cost $18.00

We walked in and atmosphere is great with a piano player singing. Owner said he had a beautiful table overlooking the water. We were brought back to a “sunroom” where my shoes were getting stuck in the sticky rug & was very dirty looking. We really weren’t that hungry but we’re always up for trying different places. There was a nice crowd in the main room. We ordered one appetizer and shared a dish. We tried the mozzarella en carroza which was deep fried burnt. Sent it back. Another came out immediately and it was deep fried, very greasy and slices of cheese not melted. It was gross. Red sauce tasted like a jar of Ragu. We then tried lobster, clams and shrimp over linguine..Lobster was very overcooked, I couldn’t get it out of the tail, shrimp was transparent and we didn’t want to take a chance on the 2 clams in the dish…price $46…We had to wait over 45 minutes just for the appetizer to come out. My husband who has owned restaurants in Staten Island and also is a Chef, wasn’t happy with anything. No dirty plates were removed, we needed to ask for bread, and prices were high. Our bill came out at $98 We passed on espresso/dessert. The owner was constantly asking how everything is, more than 8 times!! Oh, there was a couple next to us that got up & left after waiting for over an hour for appetizers. Also, we thought that it was a BYOB & brought in a small bottle of wine. The owner made us leave it at the front desk. After we left, I realized we forgot about the wine and I ran back inside. They put our bottle behind their bar. Needless to say, we won’t be going back.

Went to this restaurant for years and loved it. New chef, new staff - disappointed and sadly won't be back. Ordered the "famous" Pomegranate Manhattan" and it was poorly made - we knew from the start by the wrong color. Sent the stuffed artichoke back (also used to get regularly) - it was cold and undercooked - watery on top! My water had no ice- had to request ice from the server. Meals were mediocre. We talked to the owner and were told to not expect the old Il Giardino - not a good answer.

The food was great! There was a keyboardist setting the tone. I’m
not sure why the host was in jeans and a plaid shirt. Typically I don’t pay attention to attire, but I think the restaurant is trying to portrait itself as upscale. The vibe WOULD be “upscale”, but the neon “open” sign, the host in jeans and a plaid shirt, and the tired decor says they are riding on the coat tails of what it used to be. Like I said, the food is great. The finishing touches would make this place like nothing else around here. It has the potential to be the nicest place around. They’re just missing the mark.
