20 Year HS Reunion!!

Absolutely disgusting. I traveled an hour and a half to spend new year’s eve here despite all of the bad reviews ( should’ve listened to them). We were having a good night with friends and when I went to use the bathroom towards the end of the night a older woman(50+) who worked there bursted into the girls bathroom and started screaming and banging on all the stalls saying “get the f$@k out your taking too long” (there was no line and no one was acting rowdy in the bathroom). I went into my stall and not even 10 seconds later she started slamming on my door and looking through the crack! Once I was done i opened the door and told her that i had just gotten into the stall, this women must of had an ego trip going because she looked at me and said “ oh so you wanna be a wise guy” aggressively grabbed my shoulders and pushed me out of the bathroom and continued to push me out of the bar. I don’t know why this bar thinks this is acceptable in any way to conduct a business with “bouncers” that don’t know how to do their job. After they kicked two girls out of the bar at 12:30 at night by themselves we asked to speak to the manager or get the women’s name who grabbed us, the male bouncer at the door said he was going to call the cops. I will never return to this bar and i strongly advise people to go to ANY other bar at the jersey shore then this one because it is not worth the trouble or disrespect.

Extremely rude and aggressive bouncers/security. Every time I come here, either myself or someone else has an issue with security. I gave it a few tries but I will no longer be giving my money to this establishment.

We tried Bar A twice with a group of friends. The first time they let everyone in except one of us who was African American. A few weeks later we went again and they let everyone in except the one Hispanic male who was in our group. Coincidence, I don’t think so!

This place has terrible staff. A bartender was very rude to me and when I responded back to her, she called the bouncer on me and got me kicked out of the bar. Please do yourself a favor and spend your money somewhere else instead of wasting in this arrogant place

What a nice surprise at the Jersey Shore-- mostly baby boomers for this particular band --but what a nice surprise to find such lovely accommodating staff that wanted to make sure we were happy including the young waiters and waitresses who were very sweet. Food was very good which was also not expected and the band was great! We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back.

Jersey Shore restaurant week again and Bar A NEVER disappoints. They're food is ALWAYS outstanding, throughout the year. Great lunches. Been here twice this week. It's the best restaurant in the area. Especially when compared to the horrible, overpriced and maybe carcinogenic products of Berg's Smoked Meats and disco fries around the corner. This is more than bar food ,if you want it to be. Great onion soup, hummus ,club sandwich and tequila chicken. Yuengling on draft for under 5 bucks. Great service. At our age we don't frequent the outside bars like we all did in the past. That's where the negatives reviews come from. Entitled, liberal snowflake jerks who never got past the bouncers.

The food and service here is always surprisingly great quality. Its a shame that they don’t have a cocktail menu with fancier cocktails other than house drinks to accompany the food, but if you want a nice quiet lunch come during the day before it turns into a crazy bar at night.

Longtime staple down the Jersey shore. Always good drinks, great music, staff is average depending on the night...keep in mind...always crowded.

Big, big place, large outdoor area. Very friendly staff, came for a concert which was cancelled, but hung out for lunch and drinks. Great wait staff.

The owner is a genius as far as I'm concern. He knows what people want in a nightclub. Friday buffet is free and provides a good combination to satisfy any palate. The food is always cooked perfect and is delicious. Prices for drinks are reasonable and the wine is good. Excellent DJ who knows how to keep the crowd dancing until they can't dance any more. They always have really good bands as well. Don't go to the front bar, it's almost impossible to get served. Unfortunately, it's the only place they have Guinness and I've walked away without my beer more times than not.

New Year, new review. Still love Bar A as a local looking for great food during the day and wonderful deals all year round. Daily "blue plate" specials are a big draw. From 11:00 to 4:00, great price. Bid deal for our crew is the pork chop special on Thursday. The men of the crowd can't get enough of it. Me, I order off the either the specials menu or regular menu. The chef makes a Salmon francese' to die for. He switches it up a little sometimes with red roasted peppers and sometimes with roasted tomatoes, he adds artichokes, a wonderful sauce, sautéed spinach with garlic and oil and mashed potatoes or wild rice. My fav is the mashed potatoes. Chef make a great burger, and I also enjoy the many different mixes of salads he does. Kudos to Janet our usual waitress who always gets her orders perfect and Heather the bartender who never forgets a person or their drink choice! Wonderful spot for a satisfying meal with the locals, friendly and welcoming. I have also bought their sweatshirt for my collection, holds up great! Bottom line, wonderful lunch menu, solid staff and we enjoy coming here year round.

Bar a is the best bar on the jersey shore.
