My husband and sister stopped here today to pick up some cakes we were craving for tea time. We couldn't wait to have the cakes later that night. We tried all the cakes and were very unhappy with how old and dry they were. The frosting was good but the cake was hard and dry. I’ve worked at a pastry shop and I’m well aware of the tactic where bakeries would put fresh frosting on old cakes just to sell them. The red velvety slice we purchased has a paper thin layer of cake at the bottom which was a bright red and actually fresher than the other layers which were a darker and dryer brown/red color. Torino’s was even older and harder. We ended up throwing everything away. Sad to say we won’t purchase here anymore. Good business comes with honest workers and fresh food.

Has gluten free choices, which are baked separately - but they are baked in the same oven as everything else

Great pastry shop in NJ. The owners are from Brooklyn and know how to make delicious cookies and cakes. I am in Florida now where these delicacies are impossible to find. I always make a stop here when in Jersey. A bit pricey, but worth it.

I went in for bread. I left with 2 different kinds of bread a pastry and a hot coffee. The service was amazing and the coffee was really good. The rye could be softer, but it's still good.

The best
I loved this bakery but unfortunately I don’t see myself coming anymore, this is the second time I buy pastries and they charge me more than what I’m supposed to be charged for , I got 5 pastries and charged me for 6 😭 I didn’t notice til I got home and it was gonna be too late for me to go back and say something.
We picked up a classic cheesecake, an Italian cheesecake, and a rum baba from Elisa’s Bakery. Everything was fresh and nicely made. The Italian cheesecake stood out — really tasty and worth trying if you stop in. Overall, a solid bakery with good options.
I've always got my pastries from Elisa's. They taste wonderful. Today I spent $40. I had 2 boxes and a loaf of semolina. I asked for a bag as it was very windy and didn't want my precious pastries to take flight. They made me pay .50¢ for a paper bag! come on Elisa's you can do better than that! $40 and multiple items don't warrant a free paper bag.
