Just swung by on chanuka to pick up some donuts. Their selection is absolutely amazing. 20 flavours I think!!! The owner chaim is such a great guy! I loved everything I bought especially the dairy Oreo donut. And during the year their chocolate Danish is a staple
From the moment you walk in you can tell the owner takes pride in his store, in his service, and of course in his food. There's a great variety of different pastries and breads, but I would have loved to see some more dessert style pastries. Overall a great experience in a great store.
Did you know that you can buy boxes of 8 pastries in certain Kosher markets ?
In Kew Gardens Hills is where I purchase. Been around since 1934 ? This means that my Grandparents who went to Lakewoods' Laurel in the Pines, back then, must have also enjoyed Gelbsteins. Well, they did have the Streits as their neighbors !
