As a local, we have come over in the winter months to enjoy a few drinks and music. Today, we went for lunch. We were seated at the bar, as they were quite busy. Our first impression was the bartenders snippy comment because only one of the four of us ordered alcohol. The beer that was ordered was warm from the tap. Then we sat for at least 25 minutes without the bartender even glancing our direction, let alone asking for our order. We decided to cash out and leave. We paid and left. As we were walking down the block, the bartender ran after us, accusing us of not paying our tab (they took our cc upon ordering). We explained that we did pay. He then told us that we didn’t have to be nasty, he only works there and was doing his job. We were not nasty, we just didn’t appreciate being ignored which is why we left. What a disappointing experience. I will not be returning. 0 stars for service. I cannot rate food this time, as we were not given the opportunity to order. I have since spoken to someone from the restaurant and he told me to f*** off and he doesn’t need people like me in his restaurant. This was after making excuses for his staff.

I lived on the shore for a year and half and this is by far the best restaurant and atmosphere! The whole menu is to die for especially the steak it’s the best I’ve had in the area. It’s one of those things that you pay for quality and I can appreciate that. The staff and owner are always very professional and nice !

First time here. Not very impressed. I ordered the castaway burger. It was a bit too small for my liking and I’m not a big eater. My husband got the jumbo crab cakes which was on the shareable menu. It’s a good thing we didn’t share them because they were the size of a bottom of a beer glass. Not to mention they were $24 ! Sorry don’t think I’ll be coming back.
Stopped by a few weeks ago to try this place out based on friends loving this place. We were seated by the manager, sat there at a table in a pretty empty restaurant to be ignored by two different servers for 15 mins. Then moved our party to the empty bar to get service to have the bartender smile and turn around help two other couples arriving after us then grabbing his keys and walking to the back. We finally left after 30 mins of waiting for one person to acknowledge us there and ask if we wanted to order.

Pleasant and attentive staff, however the food was lacking for the price. Thin crust pizza resembled Chicago deep dish, and barely had any cheese / sauce. Fish tacos had no flavor and were mostly comprised of lettuce. Crab cakes were decent but not worth $12/each. Outdoor seating is nice, but with cars and trucks passing by, it really destroyed any atmosphere. Some beer (like Stella) is served in a can.. again fine for a dive bar, but not congruent with the price they charge.

Really disappointing tap list for being a shore bar.. overpriced food, small portions.. the outside bar is nice but the food is just so mediocre. And expensive. Nearly $20 for a cod sandwich without French fries and the bun was burnt to a crisp. This was probably my 3rd or fourth time going and each time I leave disappointed. Won’t be returning.. too many other good places in the area

At Castaways, you are welcomed to a wonderful dining experience with great staff. I recently went and ordered their house burger with wings and they were great. The staff was so nice and my server was great. She was attentive and always made sure that I had a refill of water ready to go. Nothing makes a place better than their adept customer service mixed with wonderful food.
