We had a cheese burger and portabella sandwich with a side or regular fries. The burger was juicy and cooked to perfection served hot. My portabella sandwich was served on ciabita bread with some avacado and onion with a little olive oil.....both were excellent!!! All were fresh.we had a pink lemonaide drink that was refreshing. The place is spotless clean. All bar bottles shine...the bar refrigeration was displaying cold temperatures and was also clean. The floors and bar chairs...

Best bar/restaurant in Lavallette. Amazing food, drinks and vibes. Can’t go wrong with the salmon and steak sandwich. Phil the owner couldn’t be a nicer guy and the staff is equally great.

We've probably been to castaways 10 times over the last 2 years. It's always a pleasure. Service is always good, starting with a very friendly greeting from the manager. In our last visit I had a double cheeseburger that I have to say was quite satisfying. Two weeks ago I had the steak. I had my doubts when I ordered it to be honest... How good could a steak be from this little place on the side of the road? I've had plenty of steaks and many many from the finest...
