My wife and I are turning 70 years old and are visiting places from our past pleasures. Tonight was the Crabs Claw in Lavalette NJ. Wonderful time . Friday night in January at the shore and the place is hopping. Live entertainment was tip worthy, singing along at the bar. Food was fantastic, delivered timely, at temp, with care. Servers very attentive and friendly.. Looking forward to visiting again at 71. Treat yourself. A nice evening out!!!! A bit pricey but real food and worth every penny.

This place deserves 10/10 stars! First of all it was customer appreciation day today and the staff circulated the restaurant with an array of appetizers from the menu. I was able to taste the stuffed mushrooms, Mac bites, shrimp scampi flatbread, meatballs, mozzarella sticks, and some pig in a blankets! Amazing! There was a raffle and the food was simple delicious. Our waitress Jackie was a superstar! Super friendly and made great recommendations.

Everytime I come I enjoy it more. Staff very friendly, traditional seafood dishes that are executed very well, good selection of beer, I tend to go in the off season because it is always very busy in the summer. Worth the visit.

All of their food is incredible and the atmosphere is really nice. There's a live band on certain nights as well as other events. They have TV's as well. The patio area is always packed in the nice weather.

Terrible experience for families. This restaurant has a “no stroller” policy, which they tried to enforce even though my baby was peacefully sleeping. The staff insisted I wake up my baby and take them out of the stroller just to be seated — absolutely unreasonable.
We were a big party, and it was very clear they didn’t want to lose our business, but instead of handling it gracefully they dragged us into an unnecessary, massive argument. Only after going back and forth with the manager did they finally allow the stroller, but the entire situation was stressful and soured the night.
If this is how they treat paying guests, I’d steer clear. There are plenty of restaurants that welcome families without making them feel like an inconvenience.

I purchased a gift card on their website for my mother which they would not honor. I attempted to call two days in a row for a manager to resolve this issue only to get told both times that one was not there and I would have to keep calling back. I have never ever heard of a restaurant that operates without the supervision of a manager during a shift….who handles food and guest issues during service, who collects servers credit card slips and cash after the shift. With purchasing a service I shouldn’t have to chase after a manager to help with an issue on their end. Both times the person who answered the phone didn’t even offer to take my contact information so someone can get back to me nor could they tell me when a manager would be available. We are now disputing this charge with our credit card company. Add to it my mother has been coming here for years and now has said she won’t be returning after being turned away with the gift card confirmation email yesterday and the fact that no one can readily assist with this matter.

An amazing bar with a great atmosphere and service! Always went on karaoke nights and while the place was packed it was still a great and fun atmosphere with friendly people and staff. On nights where it is very busy in the summer, you can still step outside to enjoy your drinks and grab a table to get a snack if you're not into crowds. The food is also great. Looking forward to going back this summer!
