When my partner quit smoking, the one thing that he wanted to taste again was croissants. After the first couple months of him not lighting up, I decided to go looking for a good bakery, and stumbled upon this particular one. We went the next morning for breakfast, got excited, and tried too many things.Something I appreciate about this bakery is that you won't find overly decorated pastries, or things made specifically for aesthetics and instagram photos. Instead what you'll find are a variety of beautifully baked croissants when you first walk in, along with a myriad of staples, with some more rare gems mixed in. Everything we have tried there is delicious. We've been back a few times, and my teenager is always asking to go.I've probably tried every croissant at this point, and they're all a hit. Absolutely worth it every time.

I’ve been enjoying the Creole Bistro menu for many months now. I have tried the Oxtail , Fried Pork, and Chicken Stew Entrees. They have all been really good, the oxtail was very tender, the pork was seasoned well and the chicken was fall off the bone. My favorite is the chicken stew, I’ve gotten it the most from the Creole Menu. You will also get some tasty pickled cabbage with carrots and sweet or green plantains. I get the sweet ones, and they are really good! The portions are a good size, I always have at least 2 meals with it, which makes me happy! I’m glad that this Creole menu is available!I can’t forget to mention a favorite baked item, their plain croissants are a favorite and are tasty on their own but I like to use them to make a breakfast sandwich.Definitely come out to try the Creole menu, croissants and the rest of their menu!

I just stopped by Café Du Pain Bakery today. I haven't stopped here for a few months and WOW it did not disappoint at all. The food is absolutely delicious and beautiful. The hardest part is deciding what you want to eat because EVERYTHING looks good. The picture below is of the Haitian "beef patty" and is the main reason why I stop here. They're seasoned well, light, not greasey and beautiful. The young lady who owns the store also bakes some beautiful pastries. She offers a variety of savory/sweet crossaints. My wife got a chocolate one and I got a ham/cheese one today and both were delicious. If you haven't stopped here yet, get there this weekend! You definitely won't regret it!

Beautiful decor, warm & friendly staff. Great example of excellence, owner Marie. Gracious & kind, very personable. And always fresh, delicious & beautifully prepared. During my 2 weeks vacation, My husband, Alex & I love to support local businesses. His friend John recommended Cafe Du Pain. We ordered the red snapper, black rice ,plantains & cabbage. All very good also bread pudding for dessert! Next visit we enjoyed stewed goat, oxtails with rice & peas it was mouthwatering! The next visit lemon bars & scones for his Mom , Sylvia. Red snapper & plantains also rice. We loved the customer service. The international crowd & the sheer joy of eating meals you don't always prepare at home. My husband is an excellent cook so he's always looking for a new spot. Did I say even the rest rooms were exceedingly clean ? Next time, croissants! They looked delicious. Treat yourself! Try new things you will enjoy!

I last went here some years back and remember the mini berry beignets being good but the egg sandwiches not really tasting the freshest. I came back and just got a blueberry muffin. I had to throw it out. It was not edible. The muffin had so much sugar in it and artificial blueberries. I would not return.

Very friendly staff. I ordered a birthday cake and it came out beautifully. Their mini cheesecakes are delicious too.

I ordered the gumbo and shrimp po boy for Fat Tuesday. There was literally 4 pieces of shrimp in a $13 sandwich. The gumbo was a small cup with mostly rice, 2 pieces of 1-inch chicken and 3 pieces of sausage and sauce for $7. Total rip off. i ordered 2 of each along with some beignets for $58. Totally not worth the price. I’ve made a huge pit of gumbo that could feed 10 people for 1/4 of that price. I will mot be going there again.

The Good: The café is lovely. Decorated beautifully, great light from the entrance windows and plenty of seating. The staff is friendly and eager to help. I ordered from the Creole Menu. I ordered fried fish, deep fried pork and black mushroom rice. The food was delicious. I would definitely bring friends there to eat Haitian food if I wanted to dine in, but I would not return for take out. I also bought a croissant and 2 funfetti cupcakes. Why I took off 1 Star:While the Haitian Food was delicious, it was not anymore delicious than the other Haitian restaurants in the area (2 others within a 20 minute drive). The portion sizes here were small. The portion sizes at the other 2 restaurants is easily double what I received here. Unless this place is using strictly organic food (which is not advertised), I can't reconcile the prices. Again, I'd come here to eat Haitian food as a special treat if I wanted to dine in with someone not accustomed to the cuisine. I wish items like goat and conch were included on the menu.I do commend the owner for making this cuisine more accessible to people who would have otherwise missed it. I hope they continue to offer it.The croissant was very hard. I'm not sure if asking them to warm it would have help. Also, it seemed like the 2 funfetti cupcakes I purchased were from 2 different batches. One cupcake was dry and flavorless, it literally crumbled when I took it out of the wrapper. The second cupcake was super moist and yet dense and the frosting was not overly sweet and perfectly fluffy. I'm not sure what happened here, but I'd probably go back and give the cupcakes another try.
