Quite possibly the Best Reuben I have ever had in my life. Sad though, as This is an empty market. Should be lines out the door. Perhaps wrong location. Move to Princeton!!

My husband and I grabbed food here a while ago while checking out the offerings of the market, and we are always happy to try a jewish deli when we find one. We were at the market fairly early, and after taking a while to choose off the menu, which had a variety of enticing options, we got both a reuben and grossinger sandwich to try. While waiting over twenty minutes for two sandwiches to be put together (no one else was waiting at the time) we tried the babka that was sitting for samples, and it tasted tough and stale.
Finally we got our food, and sat down to try it, finding a small condiment cup of coleslaw and a small spear pickle with each sandwich. The coleslaw was mostly mayo, and the pickle had very little flavor outside of vinegar. The grossinger sandwich, which was a cold fish sandwich, tasted only like red onion even after picking off half. The layer of lox was incredibly thin, and even the cream cheese was sparsely spread. When we got to the reuben, it was good, but still fairly small, and heavy on dressings. At nearly $20 for a small sandwich (the size you would get at a convenience store) that wasn't good quality, I can't recommend it to anyone.

The people working here are incompetent. 10 minutes after I ordered ( 2 simple items, no prep required ) I walked away empty-handed, even though I paid, that’s how frustrated I am.
I called both Pennsylvania restaurants hoping to speak to somebody who cared. Those calls went to voicemail.

Edit: Finally someone returned my call. They were very professional, and we worked things out.

They don’t sell borscht!!! Solid latke and knish but to not have borscht in their soup section is disappointing.

Make sure to ask for your pastrami to be sliced thin.

We asked to see the pastrami and the counter guy looked at us like we were crazy. In spite of this, we ordered a plain hot pastrami on rye. The sandwich was dry in spite of asking for it juicy which in any Jewish deli means fatty. (This is the exact reason we asked to see it). The flavor of the pastrami was good. The portion was small for an $18 sandwich.

Sometimes when you need comfort food you really want some matzo ball soup and a pastrami on rye like your dad used to have, but I was struggling to find any places around here that had them. But having found The Borscht Belt changed that, now I have a source for all my Jewish comfort foods!

Ordered the Pines and it was delicious! The staff is super friendly and helpful. The rye bread is so chewy and flavorful. The pricing is a bit higher compared to other options in the market so maybe will not be my “go-to” during every market visit - but it's worth it if you're craving quality smoked fish!

The Borscht Belt Deli is a great addition to the Trenton Farmer’s Market. I went the day after grand opening and it was busy which is always a great sign. I can see why. The menu is extensive with great sandwiches especially the Pastrami & Corned Beef Sandwiches as well as amazing soups and sides. They also have incredible bagels from Ess-A-Bagel which I loved when I worked in NY. I met the Chef/Owner Nick and he couldn’t be nicer. He was so appreciative of his customers and so excited at his new location. I said we are all excited he came to the Market! I can tell you the sandwich was amazing and I look forward to trying many other delectables at Borscht Belt. They also have a location in Newton, PA which I didn’t know. Welcome Borsct Belt Deli to the neighborhood. We are happy you’re here!
