Varsity Pizza & Subs

In my opinion, Varsity makes the best old school, New York style pizza in Lawrence township. I'm a native new Yorker and life long pizza lover from back in the day. Ahhh, NYC pizza in the Bronx in the sixties and seventies ...it was the best!
Living nearby, I was most fond of Amalfis for turning out a good quality New York pie but it went south with the thin, burnt crust pizza fad. My visiting son recently agreed ...that after twenty years Varsity still HAS IT.

Also, they ring the bell when you tip something. Nice touch.

First time here today, ordered online with special instructions on how I liked my food, food was made exactly how I asked, cold sandwiches were fresh and delicious, no soggy paper thin tomatoes, nice thick fresh vegetables, thin sliced and tasty deli meat, chicken fingers were a good size and received them still hot and tasted great, sauces were very good, I recommend the honey mustard and bar b q, cheeseburger was dressed well, hot as well, fresh crisp vegetables and surprisingly reasonably priced, order wasn't on time it was a few minutes early and still nice and hot on a cold day was a big extra, staff were very friendly and took time to help with anything I needed even though they were very busy. Excellent lunch and dinner for later I got there today and they can expect me back a few times a week, definitely check this place out, didn't try the pizza yet but they had a large choice of slices and they smelled great and looked even better, looking forward to trying them tomorrow.

Varsity pizza is excellent. Great pizza, efficient delivery and the delivery guy very respectful. I forgot to get a receipt for work submission and i called them 1 month later and they searched for it and sent the same day. Really going above and beyond. That is true service. Highly recommend!

Dietary restrictions: The absolute best gluten free pizza I have had. I have been gluten free for several years now and I miss regular pizza. I have tried several pizza from north Jersey all the way to Cape May.Varsity is by far the best I have tried.I will be back for sure....

This place is always consistent always on time and everything is always cooked right. The team that works there is great also and even though there are busy many times still take time to be friendly.

Been going here for a couple years now. Way out of my way but ireally like their pizza. Went in the other day got my pizza to go, gave the cashier guy a $5.00 tip for the crew and he didn’t say thank you or even acknowledge it. I’ll go back, but ain’t gettin any more free money. Sorry pal you blew it.

Placed an order via telephone and very clearly asked for (2) Buffalo Chicken Cesar Salads. One with Blue cheese and the other with Cesar dressing on the side, as I normally order. When my colleague went to pick it up - they made a garden salad so we requested for the correct order. They refused to remake the order. He said he cannot continue to remake salads, however, this was the first time we told them our order was incorrect. Which tells me they make the mistake frequently but place the blame on others. We order from here all the time. Food is good. But that type of response was definitely disappointing.

Stopped by for lunch w/ my GF. We’ve always have driven past but never have stopped to try, we gave it a shot and were disappointed we got some slices, 1 plain 1 sausage 1 mushroom 1 penne pasta and a order of fries Tomato sauce seemed thick like it was canned and pizza was thin and floppy, the pasta pizza did not have any flavor and was oily we jeujed it up with some parm garlic and red chili but it didn’t rlly help. The order of fries was small and not salted ( may be a plus for some people ) we were hungry it wasn’t bad enough that we couldn’t eat it but don’t think I’d come backService wasn’t bad pretty typical for a pizza spot.
