Had a very poor experience waiting far too long for my food while I needed to get back to work. I asked for my refund after being frustrated with how long the wait was taking (my guess is that they forgot my food because someone popped their head out randomly to say that it'll be out soon. Sure. Soon). After they had the balls to ask me to pay for the drink that came with my food for my food refund. Absolute terrible experience nobody was apologetic and did not care about the customer nor the experience. Judging by other reviews on how bad the food is I would not even bother ordering here
Oxtail is good but the curry chicken is mediocre.
prices is decent tho
My dish was oxtail, peas, rice, and cabbage
Delicious jerk chicken sandwich!!
Let me start with something positive THE FOOD WAS DELISH but the lady that took our order acted like we were bothering her. Not welcoming at all. Her attitude was very distasteful.
Jamaican take out joint. If you're craving something different in Lawrenceville, this is a mediocre option but not much here for anybody that appreciates quality food.
*As a side note - Avoid the cardboard like plantains, horrible for a Jamaican restaurant or any Caribbean establishment for that matter. Usually one of my favorites but these were hands down the worst I've ever had.
I love this place , they have the best beef patties! Also the oxtail is so tender and filled with flavor. Make sure you get extra gravy.
I ordered a small curry chicken with plantains and this is what came, three pieces of chicken and two of them were basically bone….my order was $15 with tip. It was a small but this is a kids meal! I order a medium from the lighthouse I pay $12 and it is a generous portion that can feed two people and it’s delicious. I only ordered from here because the lighthouse was closed. The only options that are available here are small and large. This small is ridiculous. They need to start offering medium portions, definitely not worth the money. I would not recommend go to/order from the LIGHTHOUSE.
First off, Judy is great. She's always been so pleasant and professional, always with a smile,
and open to answering questions. It's very much appreciated and goes a long way; one of the reasons why I'm a return customer, other than the food is good.
While not on the menu, they do offer ackee and saltfish on Saturdays ($18.95 for large). It's good and I recommend it. I've had their salmon in the past and it was dry and hard; overcooked and tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp. Because of that experience, I haven't purchased it again. The curry shrimp was good. The curry goat has consistently been very good, just be careful of the sharp bones. Oxtail was decent. The callaloo has been okay but the cabbage is really good, not overcooked with just the right amount of bite. The plantains are usually cooked very well. The provisions are pretty good as well.
If you encounter Judy, you're in for great customer service. There's another young lady who works there whose attitude was typical of Caribbean restaurants, off putting and rude to customers. If I had to encounter her most of the time, I would not be a return customer. But, call in your order to avoid encountering that.
There are four small benches inside at the window, but it's not a true sit-down restaurant.
Prices are fair.
Overall, the food has been good and Judy's customer service has always been great.

First time ordering from this place. I ordered the stew chicken and oxtails. The chicken and the oxtail were not soft. As a matter a fact, they seemed old. Threw away both plates. Will not go back.
We ordered the red pea soup and stew chicken; IT WAS DELICIOUS! We are so happy to have found good, authentic Jamaican food after relocating from NYC. We’ll be back for more!

They are over priced for the food to not be good! Since when is a small rice and peas with nothing else $6.50? The rice was beyond bland literally tasted like perfectly cooked textured nothing lol. I also had a beef patty the meat had no flavor just an after hint of spice. Beyond disappointed! Adjust your prices so that they match the poor flavor of the food!

I placed a 3:30p pickup order but was in the area much sooner. I called to ask if the meal could be prepared 2 hours sooner and was given no issues. I tried something different off the menu and once again, I was overwhelmingly satisfied! The jerk chicken was tender and flavorful, though I wish it had that grilled taste. The mac n cheese was delicious, no complaints. I'ma try a different menu item every time I visit! Superb customer service, ample parking, beautiful location and reasonable prices for the portions given. ✔️ ?
