Just tried the omakase experience here. And to say the least it was lacking , the food itself was 👍🏼 👌 great. However they missed a big time on the presentation, the real experience of an omakase- the wow factor. No even explained 😪 what was served.

The food was actually quite delicious and they had fresh cucumber rolls! This was all ruined by the lady manager who had a condescending tone and really dismissed our concerns for serving us cold miso soup. I saw the same lady argue with another customer for charging for an item they didnt receive. The atmosphere went down really quick after that. The customer service was just not it. Our server was extremely rude as well.

Local hidden gem. We have tried most of the sushi spots in our area and this is definitely our favorite. Sushi is fresh and delicious. Very authentic Japanese food, we always get the sushi for two set.

This is a picture of anago I ordered for $9-10. Your can tell it was thawed quickly and thus very dry and chewy. Really shouldn’t be selling this when you know it’s a bad quality. Even the spider roll was just subpar. I had stopped going here but I thought I would give it another try. I guess this will be my last time.

I find their tone and service rude - they show zero desire to be welcoming. I gave them many chances and have come in regularly for awhile - yet they stated "we are busy, no room" when there were clearly spaces at the bar. I am not going back.
Just want to know why enforce a time limit when the place is half empty. We wanted to order more food and enjoy a little more. Asked if they were closing the kitchen and the Lady manager just said "time limit." Loss of revenue and loss of customers.

Went for my first omakase sushi at Nakahara. First, small local location in the heart of Leonia. I'm told you definitely need a reservation, probably because of the length of time the meal takes with so many courses. With the omakase style the chef picks small dishes for your meal. I thought it changed from meal to meal depending on what the chef purchases for that day. At Nakahara it is a set omakase dinner, same samplings every time. The tuna appetizer was delicious. I did not enjoy the fried items. The sushi and sashimi were delicate. The diner portion ended with a beef dish that was tasty. Dessert was a choice of five very average selections. Overall it was good.

Food is great and it’s truly Japanese, comparing to other counter parties i.e. the way sashimi is cut, miso soup and small side dishes. We ordered sushi regular, Hire Katsu and spicy tuna salad. All were good. No picture for spicy tuna salad because it was so good I forgot about it ?
