Bubbakoo's Burritos

This is just not a very good location. I know it’s difficult to find good workers, but the staff here just do not care. You can tell they don’t care with the way they make the food. I ordered the crispy cheesy quesadilla and it was neither of those things. I mean, how can you make a quesadilla with no cheese - it’s literally in the name. Go to Jersey Mike’s next door, much better staff and food.

Just got back from a business trip in Europe, which explains why I haven’t been to Bubakoos. Honestly, I was missing it more than I’d care to admit… So, when I finally swung by again, I was kinda hyped only to get hit with a letdown. The first visit was meh, and the next couple times? Still not it. The staff looked like they were still figuring out which end of the burrito is up. But then, today—boom. I walk in and there’s Jeffrey, holding it down behind the counter like some sort of burrito wizard. Seriously, shoutout to this guy. My bowl? Absolute fire. Fresh as hell and you could just tell someone actually cared making it. That’s what I expect from Bubakoos, you know? All the pieces, base, meat, toppings, just on point. Plus, the dude’s quick, nails it every time, super chill, and actually acts like he wants you there. I really hope I see more of Jeffrey (or at least someone who gets it like he does) because that’s the kind of vibe that keeps me coming back.

I had such a lovely first visit with my husband. As someone who follows a strict Mediterranean diet, I truly appreciated how the food options were just perfect for my needs. Everything was fresh, satisfying and full of flavor. My husband enjoyed everything he tried, which is always a good sign. The staff clearly put a lot of effort into making sure everything was top quality. The portions were quite generous and the cheerful attitude of the staff really added to our overall experience. I want to especially mention Mr. J, the gentleman with the distinctive dreadlocks and eyebrow piercing, who was busy cleaning during our visit. Seeing him take such care made me feel very comfortable and confident about eating here. He was so kind and took the time to explain the menu to us, making us feel very welcome.

That said, I was a bit disappointed that some items we were interested in weren’t in stock at the moment. Also, I noticed that the restrooms weren’t in the best condition. I understand that this isn’t the staff’s fault, but it does give the impression that the owner might not be paying enough attention to those details.

We’re definitely planning to come back soon to try more of the menu. Keep up the good work, you’re doing a wonderful job!

I've recently moved to the Lincoln Park area and quickly found Bubakoo’s Burritos to be one of my favorite spots. It’s super convenient being so close to home and I’ve been there quite a few times for both lunch and dinner. Every visit has been great, and I always feel welcomed—staff members are consistently friendly and make me feel right at home. One of the things I really enjoy is how fresh and flavorful everything is. The menu has a solid variety of burritos, bowls, and tacos. I’m a big fan of their chicken burrito—it's packed with flavor and always hits the spot. The vegetarian options are also worth mentioning, especially the grilled vegetables, which are cooked just right. The guacamole is always fresh and seasoned perfectly, making it a great side or snack.

Jeffrey, who’s usually the one helping me out, has been fantastic. He’s always friendly and attentive and he’s got some great recommendations. He suggested I try the nachos with salsa on the side, which I do from time to time and they’re always a good call. He also recommended the fried Oreos, which I decided to give a try—those don’t disappoint at all! They’re the perfect sweet treat after a meal. I also appreciate the little details, like how the staff greets me warmly every time I walk in. It really makes a difference and adds to the relaxed vibe of the place.

I plan to start using their mobile app soon, since I’ve heard it offers discounts and a points system—definitely a nice perk for someone who’s planning to keep coming back.

The only small thing I’d mention is that during busy hours, around 7:30 pm, it can get a bit hectic with just one person taking and making orders. I understand that this is likely a staffing decision made by the management or owner and I don’t fault the staff at all—they’re always doing their best. I just hope you can find a way to improve the experience during peak times in the future.

Overall, Bubakoo’s Burritos in Lincoln Park is a fantastic spot with tasty food, friendly staff and a chill atmosphere. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for delicious, customizable Mexican-inspired dishes that cater to all ages and dietary preferences.

My husband wanting to grab us dinner, was treated to some rudeness from the two employees. He left, I called the store to get the owner/managers number and was treated to rude service from the guy on the other end of the phone. Called the owner who strikes me as the “meh it’s a write off” owner…. Needless to say never going back!

I was visiting from out of town and was ordering through
DoorDash from various restaurants in the area. I didn't hold out much hope for Bubbakoo's, due to an experience with a similar meal a few weeks prior, but was pleasantly surprised. The food was tasty, the portions comparable to price and the quesadilla gets an extra thumbs up.
