Never more I will buy from this place again I always have bought 16 oz ribeye mid rare ,sometimes is good, sometimes is bad , but today was horrible small ,thin,only fat ,meat was burned ,tough and taste like spoiled I don’t even know if it’s really ribeye I threw it away

This place is amazing, delicious and extremely friendly. Had the chop spot burger with a drink and coffee. Everything came put on time, delicious and a very friendly environment.
The only heartbreak came when on a $16 bill I left $4 tip. However when I walked up to the front to pay the bill to the owner, she charged me an extra 15% because I sat down to eat. It wasn't the $2.49 that breaks the bank, BUT I would have liked to know ahead about this charge and also who is this 15% going to ? Is it part of the tip or does this go to management??
With that said this place is amazing, delicious and definitely will be coming back.

Why I won’t support Chop Spot BBQ anymore? On 7/31/2025 I placed an order at a restaurant I often patronize. Due to my consistent health challenges I unfortunately ended up in the hospital and was unable to eat nor check my order. This morning as I was preparing to be able to eat my meal I noticed that my order was incorrect. I then called the establishment to inform them of the error and explained why I was not able to check my order. I was originally told the manager was not in and that they would give me a call. Hours passed. No call. I followed up with my call and informed again that the manager wasn’t in initially but then placed on a brief hold. After the hold, I was told that due to the fact it was two days after the purchase date that “nothing could be done”. I am done patronizing businesses like these who 1) don’t honor customer service when the receipt is clearly provided and 2) when it wasn’t my error it was theirs. I WILL NO LONGER BE SUPPORTING CHOP SPOT OF LINDEN, NJ!

UPDATE: 8/2/2025 The establishment posted via google reviews that a discount was provided which at no point during my 4:06pm 1 min call was provided. I did not meet any employee of Chop Spot with a nasty tone but I did inform them as an over 2+ year patron I will no longer be a customer of theirs. I then attempted to call the establish to inquire about the discount and I was sent to voicemail. Due to the order being paid cash, I cannot report it to my bank and it is just considered a lost however . As I explained both times calling the establishment the only reason why I was not able to check the food prior to today was due to hospitalization. With no care or remorse I was met with an energy that expressed they did not care about my business. The time stamps of the calls proves that the posting was done after both calls were made and edited to seem like I was a disgruntled patron which I am not. Additionally, I wished I was met with the same respect and care as they offered another customer mentioned on this review page “ Lisabeth”. I was not met with the same customer service especially as I tried to contact the manager TWICE and was given the run around until I posted my experience online.

This place has great food. Sometimes they ignore you when you first walk in. Also they have problems telling time. They will say 10 minutes and 70 minutes later they gave me my food. I would have left if I hadn't already paid.
Finally the ventilation is not very good, you will definitely come out smelling like the place.

The food at The Chop Spot in Linden is good, but the customer service, particularly from the older Spanish lady, left a bad taste in our mouths. I came in with my family of five (3 adults, 2 teens) for what we hoped would be a nice meal out. Unfortunately, the experience was tainted by her rude and unprofessional attitude.

We politely asked for a to-go container at the counter and was told to “hold on,” even though she wasn’t busy. Then she came over, she looked at what we needed to take home, brought the container. When I asked for the check she rudely told me I had to pay at the front. I then waited in line (1 person in front of me) at the front while my family stepped outside, and she yelled at one of my kids asking if they had paid—like we were trying to leave without doing so. I immediately responded that I was at the counter, just like she told me to be in order to pay.

What’s worse is that after checking Google reviews, I saw that multiple people have had the same issue with her poor attitude. It’s clear this isn’t a one-time occurrence.

On a positive note, the young lady with glasses working there was kind, attentive, and professional.

I hope management takes the feedback seriously, because no matter how good the food is, service like that ruins the experience.
