I wanted to support a Black-owned business on this lunch trip. The food was so-so. The woman, maybe the owner, was polite but initially gave me attitude. I definitely heard a microwave go off, so I didn't believe it when she said everything was made "fresh." The portions were kinda small for the price compared to food I've eaten in the area from other establishments. I'd go back and try again if I had few other options. I went. Supported the business. But probably wouldn't go back if I had to.

I ordered the turkey wing and pork chop dinners, both with greens, potato salad and Mac & cheese. The portions are generous, however, the food was under seasoned and the texture of some of the dishes was interesting. The Mac & cheese was not seasoned and, somehow soggy and dry at the same time. The greens were over cooked to the point they were almost mushy. The only seasoning I could taste in the potato salad was sugar. The baked turkey wings were burnt. They packaged the cold potato salad inside the same container the hot entree was in. I ordered a side of gravy and received a ketchup sized container of what looks like pan drippings. I really wanted to love this restaurant so I gave it a second try. Unfortunately, the second time was not the charm.

I stumble upon this place looking for some soul food and babieeeee it did not disappoint I had the smothered pork chops with Mac & greens mixed with cabbage and a side of rice and gravy it was good & I mean good good the service was excellent the lady waited on me and was extremely nice don’t let those negative comments fool you I also read them before coming and I am glad I did not let it stop me from coming

Upon walking in I said hi to the lady with the glasses behind the counter twice and she decided to ignore me both times I said hi. After I asked were they still taking orders 15 minutes before they closed she proceeded to tell me no then asked me if I wanted a menu. I politely declined and checked her about not acknowledging me saying hi twice. Keep your menu, nasty attitude and nasty restaurant that stinks like a old moldy basement🤢 I’ll support another local soul food restaurant.
