We have been going here now for the past few months and we keep coming back. The food here is great the salads are not just the dry Romaine lettuce Jersey diner salads they have leafy green and tri-color salads with good toppings and interesting dressings. Soups are homemade again with good fresh ingredients. The entrees (they have a two for $35 dinner special) are always top notch,from the Pasta to the fish Burgers to Sandwiches you make it they do an excellent super tasty job. The price is also great,you can't beat it...I could go on and on but I will say that they make Bistro type dining at an old school diner price Excellent experience every time Johnny the owner and his wife as well as the staff are always so accommodating and helpful,just lovely people. Support Johnny's diner,they make such good food you can't miss whatever you like to eat. 10 out of 10.

Johnny’s is a great spot to stop for a meal when in the Linden area. Had great service, large portions, and tasty food. I enjoyed breakfast but I look forward to a return to try other options. Tried the Avocado toast with bacon and eggs.

The food was excellent and the huge portions made them a great value. The Firecracker Shrimp & Calamari was a delicious appetizer, the calamari was cooked perfectly, no chewy rubber rings here! The pasta primavera was very tasty and made excellent leftovers, and the grilled chicken club had perfectly crispy bacon. They have a beautiful selection of desserts too. We will definitely be back!

Was driving thru Avenel and was looking for a diner to get breakfast and Johnnys popped up. My girlfriend and I decided to to give a try and it was excellent.

What a cozy little diner! We ordered the veggie skillet, classic skillet and the salmon. Everything was delicious and fresh, prepared with care and attention to detail.
