Their food used to be so much better. They went downhill. These nachos in particular had a small amount of chicken which was an extra $3, and there were almost less than 7 chips. It was just a bunch of beans and jalapeños.

?? Don Tequila Bar: Clementon’s Flavorful Fiesta with Room for Improvement! ??

If you’re looking for a spot with vibrant flavors, great vibes, and a welcoming atmosphere, Don Tequila Bar in Lindenwold, NJ (near Clementon) is worth a visit! Located at 817 Blackwood Clementon Road, it’s the kind of place that brings people together with fantastic food, lively music, and easy parking, which is always a plus. ?

?? Menu Highlights – Come Hungry! ??

Don Tequila’s menu is packed with Latin American classics that hit every craving! We dove into empanadas (at $3.50 each) with savory fillings like beef, chicken, and cheese—crispy on the outside, deliciously seasoned inside. Their ceviche mixto, featuring shrimp and octopus in a refreshing citrus dressing, was the perfect light start. For a filling, hearty option, try the Churrasco (grilled skirt steak served with chimichurri) or their loaded Paella filled with seafood flavors. ??

For something a little different, the Mussels in Salsa Roja were flavorful, while the Seafood Fiesta combines lobster, shrimp, mussels, and clams in a bold tomato-brandy sauce. And if you’re a fan of Tex-Mex, the Chicken Fajitas and Don Quesadilla come sizzling with all the right toppings. ?️

? Atmosphere & Experience – A True Fiesta ?

Don Tequila nails it when it comes to vibe. With upbeat music, colorful decor, and a friendly crowd, it’s the kind of spot where you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the moment. The staff adds to the experience, making everyone feel welcome. The place is perfect for solo visits, family dinners, or groups looking to celebrate. Expect a lively crowd, but embrace it—that energy is all part of the fun! ?✨

? Wide Variety of Drinks, But… ?

Now, as a self-proclaimed food and drink critic, I have to be real—Don Tequila has a wide variety of drinks on offer, and the bartenders are open to suggestions. ??

⭐️ Final Thoughts: Worth a Visit! ⭐️

The food is delicious, and the atmosphere feels like a celebration, making it a great spot to hang out and indulge in some flavorful eats. Just maybe stick with the food-focused items or a simple drink if you’re particular about your cocktails. ?️????

The food was good here and so were the drinks. The servers didn’t know much English but I know some Spanish and also pointed at the menu to the items I wanted. They were nice. I dined in at the restaurant side. It was was first time there and I would go back. They also have food cooked you can order for take out. Place is worth a try

Whoever said their food was good lied. Most of their food is bland. The rice is bland, the stew chicken is bland etc. The waitress have attitude because they don’t understand English but yet you open a business that have customers who speak English come.

Although the name and the facade appear to be Mexican, they serve very good Dominican food. I suggest that at least they put a Dominican flag visible so people know.

I was so excited to try this restaurant. I tried ordering chips and salsa. The waiter did not understand English and had to request help. The help was clearly annoyed at having to assist which made ordering super uncomfortable. We ended up never getting our chips and salsa. They also charge $5 for a coke. That's wild. I've never paid so much for a soda. And $10 for a kids Mac and cheese (most likely Kraft) without any beverage. It's crazy to charge so much and have awful service.

The waitress who served us had a bad attitude. The food was delicious, although it took a long time even though it was already prepared. The Margarita very good. Train the waitresses better, and more than charge 20% tip when others charge 15.

First off our server had an attitude from the start. We ordered from the food that was displayed on the buffet table. We were a party of 7. We observed each plate get placed in the microwave which is unacceptable. Our waitress named Marilax, was rude. When our food came out we noticed that we wanted chicken instead of beef. When we asked to change the meat, Marilax had an attitude and argued back with us saying she didn’t make a mistake arguing that she read the order back to us therefore she was right. It doesn’t matter who made a mistake or not, as a customer service representative you should not be arguing back and forth with a customer. And on top of that, they forcefully charged us 18% gratuity on our check. So of course she didn’t care about her attitude because regardless she got a $34 tip from our check when she did not deserve it. Anyone can walk a plate to a table but what matters is the attitude you are presented with. This restaurant should not be forcing patrons to pay 18% tip when the servers are going to give you an attitude and not be amicable. At the end we still tried to engage Marilax because that’s how we are, trying to make the best of an awkward situation, we playfully asked what country was she from since we were all Hispanic but she did not want to answer and when we said we were Puerto Rican that’s when she answered but she was dry and disengaged. As a former customer service supervisor, this server requires further training. We are repeat customers however this particular interaction has left a sour taste in our mouths and we will not be returning to this establishment.

Food is great. Atmosphere is great. But the service is terrible when you sit at the bar. The bartenders don't check on you and you'll be sitting with an empty drink for hours if you don't say anything to them. The bartenders need to be more attentive and hospitable to the customers. They are more focused on their secondary duties than serving the customers. It's the customers that's bringing the revenue in.

Great place to go to eat Latin food, everything very tasty, super service, very picturesque and clean place, impeccable bathrooms!! You can choose from a selection of food that is in buffet mode so if you don't know the dishes or preparation you can see it and ask, they explain everything very clearly. We loved it and will definitely return!
