The food is mediocre at best and this place gave me a stomach virus (C diff) where I had to go through 2 weeks of hardcore medicine and felt like I was on the verge of throwing up 24/7. I was on and off nauseous for about 2-3 months. When I went to the school nurse about me being nauseous after food, her immediate reaction was “Was it from Sam’s Place?” I had to make trips to Urgent Care and Quest to make sure I was fully cured. I don’t wish a virus like that on anyone.

Food is terrible. A part of living the camous life is good food on campus. Grub Hub, Door Dash and other food delivering services. For food off campus are making a killing because of the poor quality and non nutricios food. 15 dollars for off campus folks just to get in there is ridiculous. Is thisbfood service vendor related to the president of Montclair. They need to replace them....STAT! Rutgers and other colleges do not nickle amd dime like Montclair.

Good, cheap food. The men's bathroom is always a nightmare, but the music is always awesome in the evening, so those cancel each other out for me. Service is at least okay, usually great.
It’s very, very ok. The staff can be rude sometimes. Food’s a hit or miss, basically what you’d eat at a school cafeteria. Last year the food would give me stomach issues and I haven’t eaten there since. Eat there is you gotta, but nearly every other restaurant here is better. La Cantina will be open on weekends this year, I’d eat there instead.

I just got back from a trip to NYC and my brother-in-law treated us to dinner from The Halal Guys in Midtown and I knew it would be good since it was the only food cart with a block-long line after midnight. In fact I liked it so much I wanted to see if I could get something similar nearby... and I found it! I got the chicken and lamb over rice combo and while it wasn't quite the same it was still very good. The only difference is it didn't come with the pita bread and the white sauce tasted a bit different, but not bad. It also has more veggies so more "crunch" but next time I'm going to ask to leave them off (I just don't like the crunch...). I'm very happy to have a local option at a good price and generous portions. Thank you Sam's.

I have never eaten at a worse establishment. They mess up scrambled eggs! I didn't even know that it was possible to the extent that they mess them up. Everything else is just about as horrible. The food is so bad that I got food poisoning here twice in one week! The staff are some of the most rude and aggressive I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. I was yelled at, not raise your voice a little but near screaming yelled at, because I didn't notice that one of the dishes I had asked for was self serve. I have friends who have seen them not change gloves after handling food, not wear gloves at all, sometimes not even wash their hands when leaving the bathroom. The only good thing I can say about this place is that the coffee is fine. That's it. I hate going here but I don't have much a choice. The only other establishment that takes my meal plan is on the other side of campus, and I don't always have the time to walk that far. Don't even get me started on the cockroach! Do not eat here! Update: I just just witnessed an employee of this establishment touching desserts for their own consumption with an ungloved hand and putting them back. Unacceptable, just disgusting! 2nd Update: Have had students tell me that they have been served cold, raw, bloody chicken multiple times per semester. How the hell has the state not done anything about this? My guess is they wouldn't like to hear that their money is being used this way. But what do I know.
