Went in for some eggs and coffee. Sat down quickly because luckily we were a party of two. Waitress came over after a few mins, got us some waters, and took a drink and food order. She said “wait what did you want again, I literally just forgot…” Outside of that all was pretty normal, until it took 30 mins for two iced coffees and then 50 mins for an omelet with mushrooms and two poached eggs and a cold steak. We ended up getting our food after we told them we wanted it to go since we just sat there for almost an hour. I spoke to my waitress Ari 2 times in 1 hour. I would blame it on the busyness of the place except it wasn’t out of control packed, honestly the service was just sub par with inexperienced waitresses. Food was cold which indicates the food was sitting out in the kitchen and more than likely my waitress just totally forgot about us. Seems like a place kids go to work their first job. There was a nice waiter that saw we were frustrated and took over the table at the end but being ignored for 45 mins since the time our food order went in just killed it for me. I won’t be back. Manager should’ve been walking around checking on tables.

First-time customer today, and all I can say is... OMG!!! Wait time was not long at all. Our server was friendly, attentive, and helpful. I was under the impression that this was just a typical breakfast/ pancake restaurant, boy, was I wrong. Let's start with their lattes, I had a cold pistachio flavor one, and it was so good. I ordered the eggs with maduros. I love maduros, and the blend of them with chorizo, avocado, and cheese was out of this world! Can't wait to go back ☺️

My friend loved his sandwich, however I had a salmon bowl and basically had no seasonings or flavor to the meal, it was pretty bland, I might go back but I'll try something else.

I enjoyed a nice breakfast at Stax. Apparently the eatery is under new management and the head chef is one of the owners. The egg white omelet was prepared well. The bacon was crispy and not at all wimpy and undercooked. They have a good choice of toast that comes standard with an order of eggs or omelets. Care was taken with the plating of the food. The service was friendly even though the restaurant was busy. A good cup of coffee is a big part of the breakfast experience. I enjoy eating at breakfast places that do not cheap out on the quality of the coffee. Stax did not disappoint, the cup of coffee, and the complementary refill were just fine. I will return some day for lunch.

Came in this morning waited 10 minutes for a waiter to even acknowledge us ordered coffee which was the only thing that was good 👍🏻 ordered the bananas foster French toast which was raw and soggy ordered the Nutella pancakes which was burnt and the Nutella tasted burnt and overcooked with a side of bacon which came out black wouldn’t recommend this place ever horrible experience

Great neighborhood brunch destination! Chef prepared a perfect omelette with lot of cilantro & peppers just the way my husband likes it. The Japanese pancakes were great. Salad & sweet potato fries were delicious. Coffee was ok. Server & staff is friendly. Will definitely visit again.

Food looks good. Jersey Classic breakfast sandwich came with home fries. The oil or something tasted a bit chemical. I didn’t get a good potato taste either. Brioche roll was more like regular roll. Eggs and cheese were good. Also the temperature inside was chilly; some people seated had on jackets. One server had on short sleeves. 🤷♀️

If you enjoy breakfast or brunch you'll enjoy Stax! The food is incredible and every bite is fresh! The breakfast potatoes are some of the best I've had and I will most definitely be back! The breakfast burrito and the huevos rancheros are highly recommended!
