Prep Coffee has ruined other local cafes for me. Here's why : 1. Amazing staff, always friendly: the owners + baristas are super attentive and have a great, welcoming attitude. They offer great suggestions and recommendations. 2. Family atmosphere: Once you become a regular, you meet other regulars which is cool! Prep attracts all types of people, from young families, to gym goers, to students. Everyone is welcome. 3. Coffee is really good: I am very specific about the taste of my coffee, and Prep nails it every-time. I usually get variations of the same thing - espresso, cortado, cold brew, or a latte. I don't like sugary drinks, so there is nothing to hide behind when it comes to the quality and flavor of the beans that a coffee shop uses, and my coffee always tastes great! They do offer a wide variety of unique drinks like peanut butter and zesty orange lattes if you're adventurous and like your coffee sweet. 4. Food is really good: The food here is delicious. To me, the menu has a nice variety, and is worth the price you pay. I have gone to plenty of local cafes that overcharge for small flavorless bites and that is not what I get at Prep. 5. Great place to get work done: the space has nice communal tables and a couch and depending on the day you go, it's a perfect place for hosting a book club, or catching up with friend If you're in the Middlesex county area, you have to check it out and see for yourself!

This place blew me away, just had a Burrata toast, and it is the freshest that I’ve ever had by far!! This place is amazing and so is the staff. My compliments to the chef.

absolutely love this place! I always get the chai but recently tried the cinnamon honey latte and and orange drink they had and they were both delicious! The food is always tasty too! Friendly staff and a few large tables to study, work, or hang out. The Cali burrito is a favorite of mine - it's always so good! Overnight oats were great too - not too sweet and they weren't soggy.

I don't know maybe I came on a off day. I thought it would be a good choice coming here judging by the reviews. The young lady at the counter was very pleasant. I ordered the jersey burrito and it was very disappointing. I adjusted some of the ingredients. I asked for egg, pork roll, peppers, potats and cheese. I got all egg and cheese. 3 potatoes and these little chopped up pieces of pork roll. Not what I expected. I also ordered a iced chai latte. It tasted like plain milk with a ton of cinnamon. Total cost was $20.00!!!Sorry definitely not worth it. May return to try the coffee and pastries but don't think I'll get anything else.

Great coffee and food. Their coffee doesn't have that burnt taste that a lot of shops have and their flavored lattes are delicious and not overly sugary. The jersey burrito and egg and cheese sandwich are delicious. Favorite coffee shop in the area.Parking: Free parking lot in the back of the building.
Prep Coffee is AMAZING!!!!! This is legit such a gem. While their coffee drinks are super fun and tasty, their food is legit top notch. I highly recommend the burrata avocado toast and the egg and cheese sandwich. I love coming here on the weekends and it is such a nice change of pace from the usual bagel. You can tell their menu and dishes are expertly crafted for great flavor. The vibes are also great, the staff are the nicest and take so much pride in their drinks and food. The pastries are always freshly made, rotating different options, and they are super tempting. I usually end up with a scone! Overall I am so happy I found this place and it has become a regular spot. I can't recommend them highly enough!
Super clean, modern coffee shop in Matawan on 516. I was very happily surprised to find a cafe in the area as if you were to look for one even just in the last few years, you would have had a difficult time. Food and coffee beverages are amazing and are served very quickly. This is a place I will come to over and over again when I am in the area!

My husband just moved here from Australia and we have been on the hunt for a good coffee spot since leaving NYC in NJ and we finally found it ! Prep coffee is not only clean ,and cozy inside but the coffee, food and pastries are some of the best we ever had out of a coffee shop! Nick and the staff that work with him at the shop are so personable every time we come in. Sebastian’s food and shop is truly the best NJ has to offer thus far !- coconut macaroon and rainbow cookie coffees are a must try *!

I loved my experience at Prep Coffee! I study here often and the service is always so great. I also really appreciated the free Wi-Fi and their vast menu selection! They have a nice ambiance and ample seating. Prep Coffee has a great coffee menu and even offers a full menu of food and pastries as well - I had the Cali Burrito (egg, avocado, jersey tomato, corn, roasted red onion, spicy salsa roja and queso blanco) which was very tasty and the Peanut Butter latte with oat milk which was so good and definitely a unique flavor that I have not seen anywhere else! I will surely be back here soon!
