I use to eat from this place three times a month until prices of everything started going up. I ordered a large oxtail by itself cost $30 when I got home the bowl small and the oxtails weren’t oxtails it just bones and meat almost like a stew and it was submerged in gravy red/green peppers onions and butter beans. I was very disappointed because I never had a bad experience from here until this year. I miss the old cook who ever make the food now need to learn how to cook before cooking Jamaican food

The owner, Kevin, is a great chef, cooking up vegan and traditional flavors. He is always personable when my husband and I frequent his establishment. The cuisine is always tasty and cooked fresh. We had the chicken soup, curry chicken egg rolls, jerk chicken egg rolls and chili chicken egg rolls on this visit. Everything was cooked to perfection! I give this restaurant 5 stars!

First time visiting Rasta Kitchen last week. I spent well over $40 on my order and left dissatisfied. I had oxtails with a side of Mac and Cheese. The Mac and cheese was good. The issue was serving size and price discrepancy. The menu said $5 then the cook or owner said it was $8 when the cashier was ringing up my order. Why not update your menus instead of waiting until someone is cashing out. When I mentioned the menu she said that was old…okay as a customer I should’ve paid the listed asking price. This alone let me know I wasn’t ever going back. The cashier was a nice young lady however she has no knowledge of the register, menu and kept touching money and other things then serving food. Both the cook and cashier touched multiple things and never changed their gloves. When I ate my oxtails there was more bones and sauce than meat. I paid $17 for them on to get 2 1/2 oxtails. Very disappointing. The person I was with didn’t enjoy their food either. I wouldn’t recommend nor go back. I work hard for my money…I would like stellar service when I spend my money in any establishment.

Total waste of money.. ordered Rasta pasta with oxtail. All we got was 3 small oxtails and milky soup noodles. Never again!!!

Everytime I come to Rasta Kitchen I always end up getting curry chicken it was never a problem. Then past 2 times I've gotten it they shred the chicken plus the bones to much that the pieces of bones are extremely small. Smaller than the grains of rice. You end up hurting your tooth munching on a piece of bone and its so hard to see especially if you end up getting rice and peas for your side dish. I would not recommend getting the curry chicken unless they stop chopping it so small

First time here. It’s a local spot for me just a few miles away. I ordered their Oxtail plate with rice & peas plus cabbage. It was $27. Coming from FL that was a steep price. I usually pay $17-$20 for a large plate. Most places in FL offer a regular sized and a large sized plate. Their plastic container was in between in size. The oxtail was appealing in appearance and savory but a little tough. They do use a higher quality large sized boned oxtail. The rice was savory. They gave plenty of the rice & peas and oxtail but were ungenerous on the cabbage. Their cabbage was thinly sliced and not roughly cut into large sections like most other establishments. I prefer my cabbage thickly cut. Theirs is like a coleslaw. It did have flavor though. I enjoyed my plate overall and I would give it a solid 4/5. Service was pleasant and quick. I only waited 5 minutes. I stopped by at 7pm on a Saturday. There was a live DJ jamming with the tunes in the small front lobby area thats a little run down. It was a rocking atmosphere. I didn’t see any patties but thats more of a breakfast food. I have eaten at over twenty Jamaican restaurants in my 27 years of living in FL in the areas of Fort Lauderdale/Miami and Fort Meyers.

Amazing vegan brown stew, very generous portion. The cabbage lacks flavor, callaloo is recommended.
