Great for eating in or takeout! Sandwiches are huge - you can definitely split between 2 people!

Do not go here for Thanksgiving. The restaurant was overbooked. We had a 3:00 seating, but did not sit until closer to 4:00. Food was ok, but not great. By the time we were served the turkey dinner, they ran out of mashed potatoes. There was very little white meat on my wife's plate. Very disappointed

Very disappointed. We have a work holiday party and I was going but now I can't. Although the main floor is handicapped accessible they put us in the basement with a full flight of stairs. I cannot go up or down stairs. They have no elevator or draw. There is only 1 way in and 1 way out. The manager didn't care. He said sorry we cannot accommodate you unless you can use the stairs. So now I can't participate in my work holiday party. I thought we were in an accessible 21st century! So sad!

Made reservations for Thanksgiving and was an absolute disaster. No parking. A mob of people, rude people, waiting outside. Finally get inside and stand in a line of 60 people just trying to check in! Very poorly run. Will never go back.

Five adults and 2 children went to Cinders for Thanksgiving 2023 for the 3:30 seating and had made reservations several weeks ago. They texted Wednesday for us to confirm. When we arrived at 3:20 traffic was backed up both directions on route 46. The parking lot was completely full with no valet parking and no one providing directions. We managed to park a block away and walk carefully up route 46. The restaurant was overcrowded and when we finally got through the line to get inside the line to check in was incredibly long. We managed to check in after 20 minutes and were instructed to wait for someone to take us downstairs. Five minutes later our group of 7 was led downstairs and seated at a table in front of the doors to the kitchen. Ten minutes later our drink orders were taken and ten minutes later we were given water. The drinks arrived 5 minutes later with bread. We were still missing 2 place settings. The bread was soft and fresh although we ran out of butter that appeared to have been left on a small plate with creamers from the previous diners. The sangria tasted like diluted fruit juice. The salads were crisp and fresh with an interesting pumpkin vinaigrette. The turkey barley soup was bland and served at room temperature. The pumpkin soup was hot and delicious. We ordered 3 turkey entrees and 2 salmon entrees plus 1 child order of chicken tenders and 1 child order of macaroni and cheese. The turkey had a processed taste and was not eaten by 2 of the 3, the mashed potatoes were salty with too much butter whereas the stuffing was pretty good. The salmon was okay but the vegetables were undercooked and tasteless while the rice was okay. The chicken tenders looked like they had been frozen and were not enjoyed. The macaroni and cheese was made with penne so the child was unfortunately put off by the appearance. The vanilla ice cream was enjoyed by both children. The apple strudel appeared to have been previously frozen or maintained at a very low temperature and was tasteless. The pumpkin pie was described as okay. We understand the restaurant was grossly overbooked and took that into account by not complaining about the very poor service and food quality but it is worth noting the staff bussing tables were very good. We arrived on time for a 3:30 reservation and left shortly after 6:00. Although the problems that we experienced might all be related to the gross overbooking we will not be returning.

I have never done a review , good or bad but I had to for Cinders. What a great experience. From the food, service , atmosphere I could not have asked for anything better. I had my daughter in laws baby shower there on Sunday and have been receiving phone calls and texts all day about how great it was. The food and selection was wonderful. The service was by far the best we have had in a long time. Friendly and very accommodating. I highly recommend Cinders for a party or lunch/ dinner . Can't say enough. It was perfect !!!

Before heading here to meet a friend, I read the reviews like any smart diner. Unfortunately, I got an idea that the experience with me either loving the service and hating the food or vice versa. However, I loved EVERYTHING. The establishment had a wonderful and warm, modern feel with some rustic elements to make the dining experience even lovelier. Our server was rock solid with perfect timing. He not only let us go at our own pace but he even apologized for some waiting time that none of us recognized due to the restaurant being busy. He was kind, gracious, and conscientious. The food was truly incredible and consistent. World famous pumpkin soup? Well, if it isn't, it should be! So satisfying and with such great flavor. It is a must for anyone dining. The peach and prosciutto pizza is wonderful but could use a bit more flavor. Their house salad is one of the best and most flavorful I've had, the scallops were delicious and cooked perfectly, and that dessert would have made me confess to crimes I hadn't committed. All in all, this birthday celebration for a friend was truly amazing. I cannot tell you how much I cannot wait to get back to Cinders. I live 45 minutes away but look forward to the drive! Highly recommended for couples, parties, or families!

Food was good but the service is not what you would expect. I took a business dinner here and was embarrassed at some points. While waiting for my guests the bartender was eating French fries at the bar then waiting on me with those same fingers that were just in her mouth. Then at the table the waitress started talking to my guests about what I was talking about at the bar and made things very awkward. She kept touching my guest who culturally does not touch women he is not a kin to. He was still working on his dinner while boxing we told her multiple times and she insisted on standing table side while he boxed it. We were out the door 30 mins before closing and you would think we were there an hour after closing the way we were rushed. Perhaps takeout in the future as food was not the issue but the service is not up to par.

Really good food and lunch/dinner options. Very good vibe on the inside, ample parking on the outside, I highly recommend

We went to Cinders last night and had the most amazing food experience this week! We were celebrating several birthdays and couldn't have been treated better. The waitstaff was incredibly kind, fun, and helpful. The food was incredibly delicious! I had the cavatelli and broccoli...out of this world excellent! Another had a perfectly cooked hamburger done on the fire...also incredible. Others had chicken and lobster...the portion literally could have fed two people easily. Final diner had broccoli rabe with sausage and little ears pasta. ...remarkable. We brought so much home for eating the next day! I am moving back to this area from South Carolina and will make Cinders a regular stop! Thank you Cinders! You have more loyal followers! Thank you to our NJ friends who brought us to this wonderful restaurant!

Dined here on Friday night around 7:30pm with a party of eight. I made a reservation which we did not need due to the restaurant being very empty. The food was good, but we were very disappointed with our server. We felt extremely rushed by our server. He came to the table as we sat down and we told him to give us some time as we just wanted to sit and talk since we have not seen our friends in a long time and there was 8 of us. He returned within a few mins requesting our orders. Again, we told him to give us some time. He came back again after 2 mins. A few of the people in our party did not make up their mind yet due to having conversations. So the server stood at the table, stared at us and waited. It was rude. We felt very rushed from start to finish - we sat down at 7:45pm and we were in our cars at 8:50pm. It was disappointing and after we were rushed out the door, we found another restaurant where we sat at a table, ordered dessert and had a lot of drinks and great conversations with our friends. Not sure if I would go back due to feeling incredibly rushed by our server. We would have stayed and order more drinks.

I specifically wanted their cavatelli and broccoli with grilled chicken, so 3 people ordered take out. in the past I have had this dish several times and it was delish.- on May 6, 2023 i called an order in for pick up. they said 30 minutes, we were there on time and headed to a friends house literally 5 minutes from the restaurant. they had an affair in the place of maybe 40-50 people which was winding downour order:- cavatelli and broccoli and grilled chicken - chicken ceasar wrap with mozzarella and spinach - jersey burger deluxe - 2 rice ball appy- 1 small beef barley soup- 1 order fries -Let's start with the burger, it was good, ordinary but the French fries were limp and cold.- chicken ceasar wrap was horrible. the chicken was processed food not fresh, it had a vinaigrette taste, and it was cold, which in turn did not wilt the fresh very large spinach leaves nor soften the mozzarella. - cavatelli and broccoli with grilled chicken was the absolute worse food I have ever had. it was flooded with oil, very large chunks of garlic and the same disgusting cold processed chicken that they used in the wrap. the broccoli wasn't cooked at all, the entire dish was cold and inedible. went straight to the garbage.- rice balls tasted processed not freshly made and had some kind of coating on the outside which cracked when we attempted to eat them, plus they were not good at all.- side order of fries were the size of a small fry from McDonald's, were limp and cold. - beef barley soup had chunks of beef but very little barley, tasted very ordinary our total was a little over $100.00 with a tip. we will never be back to this place. such a shame they went downhill. we used to love going there. in today's climate you would think a restaurant would do everything to keep customers.

I cannot recommend Cinders enough. I’ve been here for dinner and multiple events, and it has never disappointed. When we were looking for a location for a repass dinner last week, we did a circuit of the neighborhood, as the services were in Randolph, and inquired at multiple locations. At almost every place, they were shocked that we wanted to do a Friday night repass and were. quick to dismiss us. We went into Cinders filled with anxiety after a really long day of making arrangements and wondering how we would be able to honor such an important member of our family. Immediately, John came over, shook our hands, and said “I am so sorry for your loss. Would you like to sit down and talk about what it would look like if you hosted here?” From there on out, John, his wife, and the rest of the staff gave us an incredible experience and went above and beyond to make sure that they were attending to everything that we and our guests needed. Even though they had the downstairs room booked, they gave us an entire half of the restaurant for our repass and it felt private and familial. They were attentive to everyone’s needs, and the food was INCREDIBLE. I cannot thank John and the rest of the staff at Cinders enough. Thank you for being so empathetic, accommodating, and for providing excellent food and drinks. It was exactly what our family needed and was the perfect way to come together in honor of our family member.
