The food is incredible, the drinks are wonderful, the portions are plenty, the ambiance is beautiful, and the staff are beyond accommodating and friendly. Our company is staying at the Courtyard all week. We were originally unsure about having a dinner reservation at the same restaurant every night, especially for a large group of people — but after the first night of dining at Fire & Oak, our experience assured us we made the right choice.
Always our #1 local go to place. Food is always great as is the service. Last night was no different.
This restaurant was a great choice. The menu had excellent choices with something for every taste. Additionally there were seasonal choices/specials. Our server was professional and charming. All our questions answered and his suggestions were on target. Crab cakes, Swordfish, Pasta with Chicken and the Burger were all wonderful. A great evening
I love the sushi appetizer as does my entire family, We enjoyed the prime rib and loaded baked potato
Have you ever found yourself wondering about the term “New American” cuisine? It's a phrase one might have heard in passing, but perhaps you're not quite sure what it calls for. The concept of “New American” cuisine made its debut in the 1980s and is believed to be an evolution from the 1960s “nouvelle cuisine.” It marries the farm-to-table movement with a diverse range of ingredients, providing chefs with a canvas for culinary creativity. Attached to the Courtyard Marriott since 2009 off of Chestnut Ridge Road in Montvale, my partner and I decided on dinner at this establishment. The reservation was easily made via OpenTable. Upon entering Fire and Oak as first-timers, we were greeted by the host offering patrons four unique experiences in separate and distinct areas of the restaurant. We were seated immediately in the Candle Room with a dim, warm, inviting, and upscale/cosmopolitan vibe. Their menu contained an eclectic assortment of high-quality options with steak, fish, chicken, pork, and sushi to meet just about anyone's palate. As a starter, we decided on F&O Mac 'n' Cheese and Slow Braised Meatballs. As our main entree, we opted for Cabernet Braised Short Rib of Beef and BBQ Pork Ribs served with Coleslaw and substituted Sautéed Spinach instead of Fries. The flavors were fresh, unique, and simply amazing. However, we were disappointed in the Mac ‘n' Cheese by using some kind of mozzarella cheese, making it bland, dry, and stringy. The dishes were beautifully prepared. The portion was healthy. The price was comparable to the area and worth every penny. The staff are well trained and service-oriented. Our server, Hawkins, was prompt, friendly, professional, and engaging. While touring the restaurant, I exchanged a few words with Patrick, the general manager. If the above-mentioned New American menu items have left one's mouth watering, there's only one thing to do: visit Fire and Oak,
Booked this reservation for family, put a card on file, and received a copy of the receipt. Everything went absolutely perfectly, they loved it, and the transaction was smooth. Cannot recommend enough!
My husband and I had dinner here last night with another couple, and the majority of our experience was positive. Our waiter was excellent and loved the atmosphere. While most of what we ordered was delicious, I had a hamburger, which I ordered, medium, and it came out well done, almost to the point of not being edible. I'm not one to send food back so I ate it but for the price it definitely was a little disappointing. I would give it another try but next time will be a little more picky when ordering.
Love this place. Been coming here for at least 15 years. High energy. Great service. Worth the trip. ENJOY!!
Food is fine for a hotel restaurant but not a place I would seek out otherwise. Overpriced for what it was.
Hadn't been here in awhile so we decided to go last night. As expected, everything was top notch. From the spare ribs to the swordfish, everything was delicious! No one had any complaints and everyone left very satisfied and happy. Thank you for your continued attention to detail. The service was excellent and attentive. Only recommendation is turn the lights up a little more. It was hard To see the menu without a flashlight. We'll be back for sure!

Excellent service and delicious food at dinner last night! Waiter chose a perfect Cabernet Sauvignon too from your specials last night! Everything was great!
Our waitress, Katherine, was wonderful! Our food was delicious. My grilled chicken Caesar salad was the best I've ever had. My friends and I had a wonderful time.
This restaurant is quite simply one of the very best in Bergen County! Everything on the menu is as good as it gets, crab cakes and short rib were both to die for. We had a phenomenal room for our dinner thanks to the Host!!
The food is good! But the restaurant is SO COLD and very noisy. I had a drink and took the rest to go.
We went for Mother's Day Brunch. The service was excellent & the food was delicious. The French toast & compote was very tasty as was the seafood salad & mussels. There was also scottish salmon, sushi, carving stations & seabass as well as the breakfast staples. What missed the mark was the desserts. On a buffet there should be individual small desserts. This buffet had huge brownies, huge pieces of pie piled on a serving dish, big cookies & big cupcakes. There were smaller assorted donuts. Also, we were 3 people & they charged a ‘large party gratuity' of 22% which was a bit excessive & was not notated on the menu.
