Hibiscus Island Grille - Morris Plains

What a rare gem of a restaurant! The food was super fresh and delicious. Can’t wait to try this restaurant again with my family. We had them recently cater our networking event in Northern NJ, and their catering service too is wonderful! Thank you to your wonderful staff. Keep up the amazing work!

The host was amazing and accommodating and we had an amazing event here , the food was great and is WELL WORTH IT . I had the Chili Glaze Salmon which came out great , ate it all . My party of 6 definitely enjoyed the service and food as well . We recommend to anyone looking for a great caribean dish to come here at Hibiscus! Thank you !

Came here for lunch on a Saturday at 12. Google states they are open and normally are however I sat there for 30 minutes and no one ever came. No sign on the door saying they are closed for the day. I Guess that’s normal.

I'm addicted. My coworker and I get the takeout lunch special 3+ days every week. I'd have the peas & rice for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day if I could. Also, the staff is extremely accommodating and pleasant.

Ordered 2 curry Chicken dinners. I’m 85% sure it wasn’t chicken, Mom closer to 100%. Bland, un memorable. I described as school cafeteria food, Mom said airplane food. Biggest issues was the non chicken meat had tiny pieces of bone throughout …oh yeah ordered boneless.

I spent $25 cash last night getting any 2 meats and 3 “sides.” The young cashier/server loaded up on the rice, and gave me 3 dried out oxtail pieces and tiny little morsels of tough goat. At least 1/2 of the goat were pieces of bone, bigger than the size of quarters and half dollars. The only 3 sides are 2 pieces of sweet plantains, tasteless cabbage, and carrots and broccoli. Absolutely not worth the money. The oxtail was a bit salty and chewy but the flavor was good. The goat was very dry and didn’t taste very good.At a different location I saw an employee put the meat leftovers into a fridge, at closing time. Perhaps the dryness is from being reheated from days before? Also, there was barely any meat left, but the “premium” sides that aren’t included were almost untouched. Atmosphere? Nobody inside.The amount of money being charged even just for one nonchicken meal is ridiculous. But 3 pieces of oxtail? Goat that is half bones, pieces much bigger then the meat pieces? I see they slashed the over $30 prices but still all of the Hibiscus locations nearby are doing poorly. The Rockaway Mall location closed very quickly. The Randolph location does slightly better, only during the lunch combo time.If you want an actual meal, go elsewhere. If you want to choke on bones, look no further!

This was my first time there. I was so upset and disappointed. We ordered over the phone. They got our order wrong and gave us barley cooked cabbage instead of rice and beans. The prices we saw on their website were not true and we ended up paying $46 for literally 1 oxtail and a itty bitty chicken curry with uncooked cabbage. It was not enough to feed one person. We had to go to another restaurant to supplement. If I had seen it before I left, I wouldn’t have taken it. Never again! If you don’t have enough of something, just say so. We’ll order something else or we’ll happily come back another day but don’t trick people and just take their money.

I visited this restaurant earlier on a search for good mac and cheese in the area. Upon arriving we were met with extremely friendly staff and imMACulate food! (: curry chicken also tasted great. The manager working was also giving out samples of the Rasta pasta and it was so amazing we ending up ordering some as well even though it wasn’t what we were looking for! We already have plans to come back!

This place has just the BEST food. The owner was so sweet and personable. You could just TASTE the love cooked into the food. I cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you for my new regular lunch spot!
