That fried rice was awesome! It had a scrambled egg cap! And seasoned with excellent flavor!

Small local restaurant. Packed on a cold friday night. 45min wait. 4.8 star 500 plus reviews, so they must be doing everything right.
Sadly, ramen aint it.
Was craving ramen yesterday and wanted to try a new place, so walked in, waited a while and got tantan and tonkotsu with pork chasu. Did not like either. The tonkotsu being worse. Just no flavor. No salt at all and very bland.
I am not good with chopsticks, so they gave me a steel fork and plastic spoon. Lol.

I've been coming here on my lunch a couple times a month for about a year now. The food is always perfect, the staff always friendly. The pork belly in the tonkotsu ramen is phenomenal. Highly recommended.

Any response less than 5 stars must have been TRYING to have a reason to give this immaculate restaurant less. (Or those individuals were already miserable)

This is the coziest, most attentive restaurant. My wife and I have been here MANY times and are recognized for our frequency.

We order sushi and plan to try the ramen soon! Kiori, volcano, lion king, Catherine, no matter which specialty roll you order, you’ll never have a bad roll here. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, the ginger, the fish. BYOB makes for an even more satisfying meal.

If you want to try the best sushi in NJ, you have to try KIORI!!!

Best sushi is Morristown /Hanover/Cedar Knolls area. So fresh and delicious you could pick a sushi roll blind and be deeply satisfied. Very attentive staff.

I have stopped trying to go anywhere new because I know Kiori consistently provides the best quality food and service. Not only is the sushi fresh and delicious but the bento boxes are excellent. There is also a perfect lunch special menu available until 3pm, especially the Ramen/Special Role combo. Try the Morris Plains roll it is our favorite!!!The owner is so personable and you can find him doing just about anything any given day. He is soft spoken, kind and generous. He greets guests and treats them all like valued friends. This place is quaint and perfect for lunch or dinner. BYOB and enjoy date night. I have never written a review for a restaurant before this but I just had to for Kiori as it is now on my family’s lunch/dinner rotation twice a week. I can’t say enough good things about a place that has consistently excellent food and wonderful people running it. If you want to fall in love with the charm of a local favorite…look no further.

This is legit the worst ramen I’ve ever had. The epitome of throwing the worst quality ingredients together with bagged bouillon and selling it at a premium. Noodles were awful, tasteless, and rubbery. The broth might as well have come from a box in the grocery store. Disgusting - whoever left the reviews must have gotten this place mixed up with somewhere else or they’ve completely changed how they make their food. You couldn’t pay me to eat here.

Update on 11/17/25 in response to the owner: I want to clarify that I watched you carefully during my visit; I looked at you more than once while waiting to be seated, and you looked at me and walked past without acknowledgment then asked me if I needed to be helped after you finished talking to your regulars. I’ve visited many small establishments that truly prioritize customer happiness, so your reply was unsettling—not reflective or constructive, but dismissive of my experience. I’m very familiar with what authentic Tonkotsu should taste like, and there is a fine line between a well-prepared cut of pork belly and a poor one. The broth lacked depth, the presentation fell short, and your response did little to inspire confidence. Instead of pushing back against my feedback, I hope you consider using it to improve. Good day.

I visited this restaurant on 11/14/25 hoping for a warm bowl of ramen on a cold night, but the experience fell far short of expectations. Drawn in by the 4.8 rating and its close proximity, I expected at least a welcoming atmosphere. Instead, I stood at the entrance ignored while the man who appeared to be the owner and a server carried on long conversations with two tables. It became clear he was far more focused on regulars than newcomers, which felt off-putting and unwelcoming. Only after several minutes did he finally ask if I needed help.

Although many reviews praised the sushi—perhaps a sign I should have ordered that—I chose my usual Tonkotsu ramen. The presentation was careless, the broth tasted like water with a hint of salt and lacked the richness Tonkotsu requires. The noodles were undercooked, and the pork belly was mostly gelatinous fat with a tough texture, far from the melt-in-your-mouth standard. Even adding chili oil and soy sauce couldn’t save it. I left most of the bowl uneaten and felt my $17.01 was wasted. (In my video that's all the food that was left over that I did not want to eat)

I’ve been to many ramen spots across New Jersey and New York, and unfortunately, this is one I would not return to. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but either way, I won’t be back.

I really enjoyed this little place in town. Everything we had was really good and fresh. We had Steamed Pork Gyoza pork gyoza, Spicy Kani Salad, some Special Rolls - Eel Dragon Roll and Morris Plains Roll and Matcha Mochi. Will be back soon!
