My husband and I had an excellent meal at Blue Morel last night We both ordered the roasted bass with maitake mushrooms, carrots and pumpkin butter, with a side of crispy Brussels sprouts. The dish was original and delicious and the service was excellent. We highly recommend this restaurant!

We were so disappointed in our experience. We had picked Blue Morel because it's a nice quiet dining room and our party of 5 wanted to be able to have a conversation. They sat us at the table closest to the bar so we had a loud birthday celebration going on behind the whole time. The food was fine, not great. We were disappointed they stopped offering their amazing Griggstown Farms chicken. The server was completely inattentive. He seemed entrenched in conversation with the other servers and disinterested in serving our table. The bread was delivered but we had to get the waiters attention to bring us bread plates. After the entrées were delivered, the waiter walked away so quickly. I didn't get the chance to ask him for salt and pepper. We again had to get his attention away from the conversation. He was in with the other servers to come back so I could ask him for salt and pepper And refills on our drinks. It was really crazy how uninterested he was in helping our table. Also, the menu needs to catch up with the rest of Morristown in terms of offering cocktails, and a good selection of non-alcoholic beer.

Oh wow, I mean, oh WOW! I know I say that a lot but OMG!!!! I haven't had fried chicken in so long, or at least this good. It was fried extra crispy, glazed with a little honey and the chicken skin with so much fat goodness.... I mean, OMG!!!! Give me some more! This place should also have just fried chicken skin with a little honey as well.... That would have made my dinner experience a whole lot better! Either way, I LOVE IT!

My wife and I met at the Governor Morris Inn back in 1981. As we were staying just a few miles away, we stopped by for wine and dessert. Nadya provided very good service. We each enjoyed a generous pour of the Prum Blue Riesling, and loved the chocolate mousse dessert, which had three layers, raspberry, vanilla, and chocolate, topped with three large raspberries. The portion was large and was more than enough for the two of us. We spent a pleasant hour over our wine and dessert, and with the low noise level could easily hear each other. I'd be happy to return.

Decent for a hotel restaurant. Food was good, not great, service was good. If I was staying in the hotel it would be fine, but I couldn't see making a special trip to go there.

Our waiter Henry was AMAZING Very attentive Helped with dinner selections Asked if we would like bread I asked for olive oil for dipping the bread Henry brought me olive oil as well as balsamic vinegar, fresh ground pepper and fresh parm for the oil I had the halibutandbeet salad and my son had the hangar steak and gnocchi Food was AMAZING! Seasoned to perfection We came here because my husband was in the hospital but would gladly come back again for dinner with my husband

Opentable Diner

Average at best for breakfast . Cost high in comparison to the food served. Service staff was unfriendly and inattentive Would not return

A decent restaurant in a local hotel. The cuisine is solid American fine dining style, but not too original.

Great place. Consistently excellent food really enjoy how they change up the menu and how the presentation and flavors just pop. It's a great place. Server wasn't very knowledgeable on the menu but he was very nice and attentive. We had a great experience

Two of us ate in the bar, and the bartender and waitstaff were attentive, but not overly. All was very nice except my duck, which I requested medium rare, came fully cooked and tough. Not wanting my dinner partner to wait on me and eat a cold meal, I didn't send it back, but I should have. Ruined an otherwise nice dinner.

The food was very good... well prepared and nicely presented... Our waiter Henry was extremely polite and pleasant ... he was efficient and attentive even though the restaurant was quite busy... the ambiance was pleasant.. soft lighting and quiet background music... the table setups and decor were adequate but perfunctory... Overall a very good hotel restaurant!

Everything about our experience was five stars—from the warm and attentive service to the impeccable quality of the ingredients. The dishes are clearly crafted with care, and the flavors are simply outstanding. I’ve been searching across many countries for the perfect Brussels sprouts side dish, and I can confidently say I’ve finally found it here. Absolutely unforgettable!

The Colombian waiter was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable—enhancing an already exceptional experience. Every detail, from the presentation of the plates to the beautifully curated displays throughout the space, speaks of sophistication and thoughtful design. You truly feel taken care of.

I would recommend this place to anyone who appreciates high-quality food, genuine hospitality, and a refined atmosphere. If I had one very small suggestion, it would be to consider adjusting the music. While it’s a minor detail, I believe classical, blues, or jazz would better complement the elegant vibe of the restaurant—but of course, that’s just personal taste.

The Blue Morel is located within the Governor Morris Inn Marriot. I have to say that our meal on Mother's Day at Blue Morel was a bit of a disappointment. 1.) there was no mention in the reservation with Open Table that it was a buffet offering - not what I was hoping for in a Mother's Day meal out 2.) it was $99 per person (not a good value at all) 3.) there was a service charge added to our bill that we were told was printed on the menu yet we couldn't find it anywhere 4.) we had a 6 o'clock reservation and they started breaking down the buffet at 7. The food was good, but not $99 a head good. We spoke to the manager and he said it was all good feedback and would help him in the future (meh!). Wish we had ended up somewhere else and had $50 delicious entrees and cocktails for a $300+ meal.

Avoid at all costs. I don't complain, it's just something I don't do. This was my first experience for which I was compelled to complain in my 52 years on this planet. Just go somewhere else - anywhere. Anywhere would be more value for money. Simply awful.
