The food is very bland. We had a pupu platter for two and dumplings. They're all dough and the pupu platter lacked any type of flavor. Not even the ribs had that classic taste it just fell flat for my taste. We won't be back.

I've been going to cottage for 26 years. The food was good, consistent, and affordable, so we continued to be customers. In the past few years the food has declined significantly but the costs have increased. I'm a creature of habit, I have certain go to dishes. Crispy shrimp was a great dish, you could also ask them to make it spicy by adding hot peppers. Scallion pancakes still a favorite! So today I went to order them as I always have. Crispy shrimp- very spicy, scallion pancakes, then I asked what kind of vegetables are in the vegetable fried rice. The woman said... carrots and bok choy but she didn't know what others. What's in shrimp fried rice? Onions, sprouts, and peas. Ok so I chose mixed vegetables with garlic sauce and brown rice. The woman said it would be ready in 15 min, great. Ten minutes later she came out with my food. I checked my food only to see it wasn't made as ordered. The shrimp wasn't spicy, it wasn't even made with peppers at all. She brought it back to the kitchen then brought it back out, but it still wasn't right. When I asked what they did to it, she said they cooked it in hot sauce. I explained that's not how it's normally been made spicy. So they said they'd make another one with peppers. When she brought it out, everything looked OK. Once I got home 20 minutes later I realized they never actually cooked the crispy shrimp with the peppers they made bland crispy shrimp and put sauté peppers on top. The mixed vegetables were undercooked and the garlic sauce which is normally a thicker sauce was EXTREMELY watered down that it doesn't stick to the vegetables at all. The scallion pancakes were however the only thing that was correct. To spend over $40 to not get what you want is very disappointing.Update:While I appreciate a representative of Cottage II responding to my review, I find that to be publicly poor effort to save a longstanding customer. As I stated the food has been on the decline over the past few years. There have been other poor reviews as well. So that tells me you haven't made efforts to change anything. The woman who helped me that day, has worked there for as long as I can remember and she has no real idea what's actually in the dishes. It's time to go back to basics with the kitchen staff as well as the servers, especially if you expect to charge higher prices.

Have eaten here twice now and both times the food and service were excellent. Portions are generous and the food cooked perfectly. Menu has an extensive and includes all the basic Chinese food dishes, plus many special ones too. Highly recommend.

This restaurant uses Door Dash to deliver their food, but still charges you a $12 convenience fee, AND a $5 delivery fee?? Yet they do not let you order directly from Door Dash - you HAVE to use their site. When they delivered our food, everything was packed into a tiny, thin bag (too much food the size of the bag) and it was ripped on the bottom. The food fell everywhere. We saved it all except for one order. My husband went back to explain the bag was ripped and asked for a replacement order of chicken and broccoli. They said no. They also refused to give us the 2 cartons of white rice that were missing from our order. They blamed Door Dash. Horrible customer service and to be honest the food is awful as well.

Not impressed any longer. Got moo shu and a chicken n string beans dish. Prices are way up and the meat went down. They're making too much profit on their customers. The dumplings were ok but less meat and lots of dough. All this was over $50 takeout.
