It was my first and last time at this restaurant, over $300 for 3 people and not worth the price! Salmon was over cooked, steaks were mediocre at best! I’ve had better French onion soup at the diner!?! The service was great, decent ambiance, but way over priced for the food quality. Good sized portions on the “family style” dining, but you can get better taste for a third of the price.

I loved it here! Our server Jake made the whole night! I’m so glad I was sat in his section. We were celebrating my partner’s birthday and he really made it special. Jake made sure everything was exactly right, made sure everything was enjoyable, was polite, professional, and personable! He is an absolute delight! There was an honest mistake and was served an incorrect side at our main meal but he took care of it discreetly and professionally. At the end, he really made my partner feel special and surprised him with his birthday sundae! Can’t wait to come back again and am definitely asking to sit with Jake!

Had business lunch here for the first time. It was quiet and easy to talk during lunch time with no wait, even though we did have reservations.
The individual piece of warm bread they provided for each person was excellent, we all ate the whole thing, which was way too much but you couldn't resist not eating it all.
I had the lobster bisque and fillet. The soup was very good with large chucks of lobster and the steak was a good size and cooked to perfection at medium rare. I ate way too much for lunch but it you can splurge once in a while.
The sides were all nice portions and they served the largest baked potato that I have ever seen, you can easily spilt it four ways.
It's very pricey but you should know that before heading in and there is no parking so you have to park in a lot for a fee.
Roots Steakhouse never disappoints. The atmosphere is classy but comfortable, making it great for both special occasions and a nice night out. The steaks are consistently cooked to perfection — juicy, flavorful, and exactly the temperature you ask for. You can taste the quality in every bite.
The sides are just as impressive — the creamed spinach and lobster mac & cheese are absolute standouts. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and always makes you feel taken care of without hovering.
They also have a great wine selection, and the servers give spot-on pairing recommendations. Dessert is worth saving room for — the carrot cake and crème brûlée are fantastic.
Overall, Roots delivers the full experience: excellent food, top-notch service, and a warm, upscale atmosphere. Easily one of the best steakhouses in New Jersey.

This was my first time visiting Roots Steakhouse, and it was an excellent experience. We were a group of four, and our host, Felipe, truly stood out. He was welcoming, attentive, and made us feel comfortable from the very start.
The service was prompt — as soon as we were seated, we were served water along with their warm bread and butter, which was absolutely delicious. For appetizers, we had the lobster bisque, and it was so good I could have easily had more.
For the main course, we ordered the Porterhouse steak — simply exquisito. It was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. We paired it with mashed potatoes, something with spinach 🤣and mac and cheese as sides, both of which were creamy, comforting, and tasty. Dessert was a butter cake topped with ice cream — the perfect sweet ending.
To drink, we enjoyed a glass of wine and a diet soda. Everything from start to finish was spot on. If you love steaks, Roots is a must-visit. I’m definitely coming back!

We hosted a baby shower for my daughter on Saturday August 9th 2025. I can’t say enough From the start of planning Frankie or Andy couldn’t be more than helpful. If I reached out they returned my email within a reasonable time. The day of the event the staff was more than attentive. Never needed to look for anyone they were always asking if we needed anything. Food was amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be going back.
